What makes people who are born into a free society such as ours, go and take up arms against us?
Surely they should be tried for treason as British Nationals fighting against their own country.

btw, this was on the News this morning and not a rant of the DM

I was merely trying to explain that being such a multi cultural community as we are the british Isles you are bound to get people with torn feelings.
Imagine you have relative and friends in Afghanistan or Iraq and something happens to one or more of them because of the British security forces, you are bound to feel torn in allegience, it's simnply human nature and some people will choose to go with their heart and fight for their birth country. I am not agreeing that they are right simply trying explain.

and I won't ignore this comment Triggs, you and me agreeing..LOL
but seriously, what , if anything, will these men face?
sorry, meant kafirs -

Question Author
well in cases such as that NOX, as jth said earlier, they should go back to their birth country and relinquish the right to be British
Which if you bothered to read my initial post I had already said.... no good trying to be objective here is it? Good grief.
Question Author
whoa, I am only giving you my p.o.v NOX and I am listening to yours
The CPS wouldn't run a treason trial in a month of Sundays.

They will be heroes in their community, and the taxpayer will hand out largesse - see my earlier, and largely ignored, post...
Question Author
I am sorry Venator, I really do try to read and answer all the posts, I will go back and look now
Question Author
and I did miss that one
yes, I agree with you totally,
so does the Treachery Law still exist?
Nox...I agree...it happened in WW2...........you make your choice and suffer the consequences if you back the wrong "horse."
Yes, Bobbi, it still exists, but is rarely used.

Question Author
so I wonder why we bother having this venator, I read your link and the British Government want to try to use it against the hate filled Clerics who spout their anti British feeling here in the UK, but said it would be doubtful to be used, doesn't make sense at all to me
"These people almost certainly regard the UK as the Great Satan, and its native people as kaffirs."

Any evidence whatever for this claim?
They should be handed over to the Afghans, and face their justice.

One thing for certain they should never be allowed back into this country.
glad to see everyone's tried and convicted these "suspects" without having a single fact at their disposal...
Question Author
which is why I asked earlier, how could they be refused entry AOG?
They will claim they have HR as a British citizen,

jno, I can't answer you as I didn't post that
JNO - I said "almost certainly"

Do you have any evidence that they are patriotic UK citizens?

What's more likely?
jno.....all the posts are based upon the comments of the OPer's link.

If they are correct, then the comments are pertinent, if they are subsequently found to be incorrect then they can be considered...impertinent.

This is a website and not a trial transcript.
Question Author
agree with venator on this jno,
'Embassy staff are providing assistance'
Will they be flown home at the taxpayers expense?
