I have just read most of the posts about Amy Winehouse. I shall miss her voice and the person she was, yes, even with her demons.

Most of all I feel so sad for her parents, they had tried so hard to bring her back from the edge, I guess she didn't want to listen oh Amy, Amy Amy!

I do realise that there are many parents who for many reasons (illness, war et al) that do have to say goodbye to their children but in the great scheme of things this is surely the wrong way round.

So to Amy's parents, the 23rd psalm:

Glad you're well Anne, I'm not truly angry just irked that anyone can seemingly rejoice in the death of a talented 27 year old girl because she's made a few dodgey life choices. You might recall I was an addict myself at one time, and to hear such self righteous claptrap from someone so ill informed just made me think well what about famous high functioning drug takers and you've got endless people such as Carl Sagan, Presidents Clinton and Obama have both taken drugs,Aldous Huxley, richard Branson,Churchill used opium,Paul Erdos, coleridge,Kary Mullis... the list is endless... to say someone is scum purely on the basis that they have taken drugs at some point is too narrow and foolish to let pass without remark in my book.
