Today's Britain?
Or just pictures of today's youth doing what they've done for generations, going out getting bombed at weekends, but this time it's captured in all its glory?

We've all been there in our time. Its good they feel secure to get drunk on the street. They probably acquired the taste on alcopops at 12y.
We got stoned & that would have been literally in less-free society.

Interesting to note that it seems perfectly correct to picture the indigenous people behaving improperly, but the media seem to shy away from showing the ethnic communities from behaving likewise.
A case in point are the pictures of the recent riots, plenty of close-ups of white faces, but others are noticeable by their absence.
Incidentally did the photographer breach these youngsters human right to get sozzled?
Cannot understand why their faces have not been blurred out as is often the case.

AOG - probably because as a rule, ethnic communities do not behave in this way.
A number of eastern religions ban alcohol, and combined with their far stronger sense of family and community, you will find ethnic endividuals to be a minority in this area - as reflected in the phots taken.
I think it highly unlikley that the photographer deliberately avoided taking pictures of the ethnic population - they were simply not there to be photographed.

When I typed 'behaving likewise', I was referring to my words 'behaving improperly', not specifically being drunk and disorderly, hence my referral to the riots.
Incidentally Andy, some Asians and Blacks can drink with the best of them, and also create as much havoc when intoxicated, though perhaps not their females.

/// Why are you mentioning race on this thread? ///
Because I get a little sick of the media's obsession with PC, by being perfectly willing to show and also highlight white imperfections, yet seem to shy away from criticising the ethnic minorities, or showing them in any particular 'bad light'.

I disagree entirely AOG.
i think the media love to chime with the national predjudices about ethnic minorities - and if there are drunken black and Asian people whotographed, they would show them.
In this instance - as I have said - the reason why there are no Asian and black people photographed falling about semi-conscious and voiding their stomachs onto the pavements is not because the papers are too 'PC' to publish them - it is because there are no pictures!

AOG - But this was a perfectly serviceable grumble about the appalling behaviour of the 'youth of today' which, let's be honest, is amongst your favourite topics.
There was no need to crow-bar any racial references into it.......why not go the whole hog and mention homosexuals, muslims, immigrants (illegal and otherwise) and the nasty loony left?
You'd have the full complement, then....

The same way you know that there are pictures - but the papers are too 'PC' to publish them.
Except my argument has the considerable weight of evidence behind it - the nationals lose no opportunity remind is that sedition is all around, and most of it does not have a white face, or British citizenship.

Hands up anyone who only saw pictures of white rioters last month?
Was anyone unaware whilst watching the news that in the first couple of days, that the majority of rioters were black, and then on the third day, white rioters from other cities 'joined in'?
Let's leave race out of this (upsetting as it may be for some) - I think there's another reason behind this behaviour, and it's been going on for years...it's the 18-30 culture. When kids go on holiday, they get tanked up like this (I've been there myself) and what we see now is 'Aiya Napa behaviour' but on the streets of Britain.
Also, there's been a change in the way that kids go out. I saw a documentary about policing at the weekend Preston, and it was revealed that many revellers get drunk at home before going out, and then are presented with 'buy one get two free' deal etc.
