How did they know it wasn't provided under the Government's 'Mobility Scheme'?

with that amount of money he's hardly likely to be worried about a parking ticket. Better had they hauled it out of the space and sent it to the knackers yard
because it wouldve had an orange badge in the window!
It is pretty clear that this driver simply wanted to park anywhere he pleased and was not in the slightest bothered by the ticket, pure selfishness on his part.

Re exchanging Mobility payments for cars - if you choose more than a basic model you pay the difference, cannot see the relevance in this case though.
Maybe he was disabled and forgot his badge.
Somebody should have keyed it.
You mean the one that said "I'm a pudding" ?
pudding !!!!!!

dratted censoring nannies
Just because he's got a (very) flash motor, does that make him or her more selfish than say Mr Ford Focus owner who'd do the same thing then?
if i had a veyron, i'd park in the disabled spaces -wouldn't want anyone to open their door on me
Nope - you are quite right B00 - envy is a nasty emotion - I'll chastise myself later :(
hehe
"The returning owner - an expensively dressed man in his early 40s - looked unconcerned at the ticket, according to witnesses"

i was only wearing jeans and a t-shirt, hardly the saville row clobber i normally wear.
im not defending him, but if it were my car i could see some reasoning... there are some very petty spiteful people in the world who have a chip on their shoulders about other peoples wealth and would love nothing more than the opportunity to scratch or ding a car like that...

a fine is cheaper than the cost of parts or a respray...
//with that amount of money he's hardly likely to be worried about a parking ticket. Better had they hauled it out of the space and sent it to the knackers yard //

Why ? - simply because this guy drives as expensive car ?
Would you be happy to have your car hauled off to the knackers yard , had you parked illegally ( i'm assuming you dont own a car as expensive as this one )
like i said, a lot of bitterness and jealousy - you cannot destroy or damage a car because of a parking issue, whether it be a £300 fiat or this one

perhaps a clamp to cause inconvenience or tow it to a place so he has to pay to get it out, but you cannot destory or damage it just so you can sneer at him.

perhaps there should be system where the fine is proportionate to the value of the vehicle?

with £60 as a minimum so old bangers dont get away with it.
No someone should not have keyed it. It's this sort of mindless vandalism we need to discourage not set a bad example for. Maybe if fines were relative to personal wealth it might be a fairer system. Just the problem of working out someone's personal wealth then.
"How did they know it wasn't provided under the Government's 'Mobility Scheme'?"

It would have had a valid blue badge displayed in the windscreen.

its very unlikely that it was a disability car, apart from the amount of money a disabled person would have to stump up to afford a sports car, the scheme itself is unlikely to have such a car on its lists.
even if they were actually disabled, they have to display the badge, if they dont they are fined regardless - you cannot produce it afterwards and have the fine cancelled.
I am jealous of no one, not in this life that's for certain, a pointless exercise.
