He might end up in Barcelona as short-term cover for David Villa till end of season.
Oh dear, there goes Liverpool's main source of goals

8 games seems very harsh, especially when players get far shorter bans for red cards as a result of potentially leg breaking dangerous tackles

Sense of perspective needed here

He should have apologised after the game instead of trying to make out the other player was lying.

From SKY news

In response to the ruling Liverpool Football Club released a statement saying: "Liverpool Football Club is very surprised and disappointed with the decision of the Football Association Commission to find Luis Suarez guilty of the charges against him.

We look forward to the publication of the Commission's Judgment. We will study the detailed reasons of the Commission once they become available, but reserve our right to appeal or take any other course of action we feel appropriate with regards to this situation."

they have not released all the information, I was on the understanding that they had some film footage of the incident that was not shown on television

Is it likely that they, or any other club, would have said anything else?
Question Author
if they have not seen the evidence how can they say anything, they will go on what their player says first.
My point is that they are a business who recently paid a vast sum for an asset. They, and all other businesses, would say that regardless.

it is only 8 games, soon pass
Ridiculous decision in my opinion, but a sign of the times. Political correctness now comes above violent conduct, spitting and cheating, strange days indeed. Somebody at the F A must be a City fan.
Ludicrous decision Am getting fed up of cry baby footballers bleating the race card and punishments dished out which don't fit the crime. Sure, someone shouldn't use someone's size, colour or sexual orientation to vent anger, but I fail to see how the punishment is 40k and 2 months suspended from your job.

The woman on a tram venting her anger is another stupid one. She'll spend time in prison at christmas for simply saying her piece. Yet weirdly nothing happens to all those that have given her death threats since her arrest.
I must admit to being very surprised at this decision. I believe it to be right, but I thought the FA would cop out. John Terry must be a worried man tonight.

Suarez more or less admitted it, saying that in his country, it is perfectly acceptable term. A very weak defence, I am not sure why Liverpool FC are that shocked.
Not a day too soon. If the players cant act civilly towards each other then what chance some of the thugs on the terraces?A message has now been sent out to players and fans.John terry will have a few weeks to spend at the bookies i suspect .
If a player called Dalglish or furrybum a jock twit would there be the same furor.
Break the law pay the price. Seems simple enough wouldnt you say?

So you have no objection to his sentence then?
I would like to see/hear how it was proved as no words were heard on the TV. I am a Man Utd supporter and think this racist/PC is getting out of hand!
How can you say its getting out of hand if you couldnt hear what was said on the Tv??
