the big man who got the student off the train recently has been charged with assault. What do reckon, right or not.

Em, we've all 'seen parents smack their children so hard that they were left in flood of tears', most of us were probably smacked so hard we were left in floods of tears, not really through the actual pain though. When the parents are smacking kids and leaving marks, then we have a problem, but when they're smacking an unruly child on the bum or the hand, would most people bat an eyelid!? But yeah, that's 'technically' assault!
We could all through extreme comparisons out there, it would be assault to 'man handle' a drunk man from a kids playground who was screaming obcenities, you'd still hope someone done it!

absolutely dead right he should be charged! - the man is clearly a bully and a thug!

the lad was just a boy and he physically picked him up and forced him off the train - he could have been seriously hurt - or worse fell down onto the tracks!

what business is it of his if the lad a ticket or not?
he wasnt attacking or abusing the ticket guy - to claim that he was just defending the inspector is ludicrous!
the inspector was in no danger whatsoever from this kid... he simply hadnt bought a ticket - somthing many of have done before in the past im sure...
if hed manhandled me - or my child - that way id have had him in court in a shot!

im gobsmacked that every one is defending him just because 'technically' the boy was in the wrong for not having a ticket!
so its ok to abuse people now is it?

since when is physical manhandling the answer to unpaid fares?

id have liked the lad the be a lot bigger and have floored him... though i expect the guy wouldnt have done it if the guy hadnt looked about 16...

its interesting that in other circumstances there would have been outrage if someone placed their hands on an other person like this...

You were rude, unpleasant, many people might think you needed dealing with, but would that be okay? I don't think so.

you are joking surely, the kid was not a kid, but a 19 year old student, drunk and disorderly, so that it a crime, strange you should think otherwise. Travelling on the train without the requisite permit, ticket is also an offence, and anyone caught is usually issued with a fine by the ticket inspector. I have seen this countless times on public transport.

that's because you'd have given me a kicking Nox, if you're looking for a parking space and I'm petulantly standing in the only space left in the whole of town, you've got an hour to get your Xmas shopping, so you get out and shove me to one side so you can park, that's absolutely fair in my eyes!
It's not the fact that the kid was being a div, it's the fact that someone not-so-gently ushering him off the train is deemed assault!
Like you see match stewards grabbing pitch invaders, like you see bouncers ushering drunks who've had a couple too many.

the kid may have 'broke the law' (although hardly crime of the century is it?) but that also means its for the law to deal with him and punish him - that 'big man' was not the law... he attempted a misplaced and arrogant bit of 'vigilante justice' and as we all know thats just not allowed.

if he wants to get involved and see himself as some sort of crimefighter (the Brown Borrell, from Viz springs to mind) then he should tackle genuine criminals and stop genuine crime - but as a said, i doubt hed have the guts...

No it wouldn't be alright to shove you out of the way Paul, it just wouldn't be alright- much as I might want to do it, I wouldn't because it's never okay to take the law into your own hands if you don't want to suffer the potential consequences- which this guy is now facing with a whole selection of bleeding hearts blubbing on his behalf. Sorry I have no sympathy for him whatsoever, he's just a bully.

he seemed to be just saying he didnt have a ticket. he was not threatening or shouting etc.

and even if he was drunk - it still doesnt give anyone the right to grab him and shove him about.

He should have got an MBE not charged.In my opinion he was assisting the ticket collecter and not breaking the law.The lout who fare dodged was breaking the law though.Charge that little scrote.
