to sleep in the car, instead of booking into a hotel or going to friends/family, she must have been keeping their marital problems well under wraps! there is more to this than we will ever know!
She said she fell asleep in the car ????Did he not think to look for her when he woke (assuming that he went to bed )?Maybe he fell asleep with the noose round his neck !!!!!!(coroner said that ).
It certainly is a very sad set of circumstances however I think it was incredibly bloody selfish of him to try and feign suicide, if that is indeed what he did. Fake suicide attempts carry with them a risk of death and it's a crying shame for all those left behind when it goes wrong/right.
mmm...i think anyone with a noose has a certain amount of intent there. how can you fall asleep with one round your neck? all i know is that it was a tragic outcome.
I have just been to look at this. First it's all very very tragic and I don't mean to be disrespectful but having said that I find it hard to believe she slept in the car at the end of November. It would have been freezing. Also if she was really locked out she'd have knocked until her sons at least answered wouldn't she? All very odd. I hope the papers have distorted the facts.
the thing that I find difficult to fathom is that, apparently, he sent his wife a text to the effect that he was feeling down and suicidal. This was 3 days (?) ahead of his death.
Why, why did his wife not take action then? It was obviously the cry for help...
I find it very strange. One report said she looked through the garage window and saw his feet and that the 999 advised them to cut him down to resusitate till the ambulance arrived. so he must have been off the ground so i don't understand how he could have fallen asleep.
to fall asleep in the car with their two teenage sons in the house is strange. if gary and his wife were out then there sons must be of an age where you can leave them in alone so i don't think it would have been a problem to waken them
i read he had 80mg of alcohol in his blood. just over the drive limit so he wouldn't have been drunk to pass out.
i really don't know how a hanging could be an accident. my stepdad hung himself 8 months ago and i would never think to say it was an accident
If you are sitting on some step ladders with a noose round your neck THINKING of hanging yourself and then you slip and the ladders fall, that's an accident, simple.
I was talking to my son who said, well he could have killed himself and jumped off the ladders, the could have slipped and fallen off the ladders or he could have had the ladders kicked from under him... bet these last two comments don't last long.
there was maybe markings on him of a struggle which would suggest an accident or started to do it and change his mind
when i was reading up after my stepdad done it i read if your set on doing it, there would be one mark on you. where if you'd changed your mind but couldnt' stop it there would be evidence of this
Whatever the verdict the guy was in a horrible state of mind - to either kill himself or to feign suicide. He must have been in a very dark place. It is not a nice place to find yourself in.
