Obviously I do not know if you are an immigrant yourself, because if you are, then it is a certainly that you would not agree with what I have wrote.
As I have already said I am much older than most, and since I was born in this country, I have more than likely lived in this country years longer than you have.
In all those years I have travelled far and wide, and have seen a difference immigration has made on this country, these are not tired old clichés as you have wrongfully described them, but hard facts gathered personally over many years.
Since I have offered my point of view, perhaps you would like to address it from your point of view, perhaps you could start by stating your age, whether or not you are of indigenous stock, and any further proof to the argument?

Yes, there is sometimes a local problem when immigrants from one place hit upon one small place here. That happened in Cambridgeshire when we had a large influx of young East European workers with families. Being young, they had young children and the village schools suddenly had to deal with an usually large intake. But all that gets resolved . And the local employers certainly needed the labour provided by the foreigners.
Time passes and immigrants all get assimilated gradually, whatever their numbers, as they always have been (how many Danes live by St Clement Danes nowadays, what happened to the 'yiddisher' Jews of Whitechapel, how many Huguenots do you know? )
The US has had a greater number of diverse immigrants than any country. They all end up being American and accepted. Why should Britain be any different?

AOG, I am 65, vote Conservative (if that's relevant),read the Telegraph, Times and Guardian (ditto) not sure what 'indigenous stock' is, but both my white parents were born here, my mother's ancestors were Irish ( but that was when the whole of Ireland was ruled by the British monarch, so that's all right) but my father's were all English, by Jove.
I used to read the Mail, but found I couldn't answer the headlines with anything but 'no' (Could blackberries cause cancer? etc), so gave up.

Unless you are telling lies, and I have no reason to disbelieve you, the fact that your street contains people of Polish, Nigerian, Indian, English, Scottish origin, as seen by your own eyes, is hard fact.
Therefore what I have witnessed by 'MY' own eyes, over all these years are not just my opinions, as you wrongfully stated, but also hard fact.
And incidentally age brings experience, and with experience comes wisdom, as most civilisations have come to realise.
'Head man of the tribe' is never usually a young 'whipper-snapper'..

I can see why this would be a flattering thing for you to believe, but if you're talking about intellectual history, I think you'll find plenty of criticism for this idea...
What your argument essentially comes down to is 'I know better because I'm old, so there.' But I notice you haven't responded to the criticism I made of this earlier - the fact that you are just one of tens of millions of people, speaking of a disparate and fairly small number of localities*, each of which are individually subject to the possible illusion of there appearing to be more immigrants than there actually are. Why, for instance, don't all people your age agree with your conclusions? Are they all woefully stupid compared to your towering intellect, or is it just that experience alone is an insufficient basis for making arguments?
If in 40 years time, I happen to have lived (hopefully...) through the 2010s, this fact will not in and of itself grant me the authority to speak about the state of affairs in the country as a whole at this time - it'd be ludicrous of me to make such a claim. As one person, I can't possibly accumulate enough experience on my own and as a human being my memory and psychology is fallible. That's why ultimately we need to rely on peer-reviewed and tested research. It's pretty much the only tool we've got to get us out of the labyrinth.
I'd also like to point out, as an aside, that your arguments, if they work, ought to stand up to scrutiny and be defensible - whatever they're based on.
*I'm aware you've said you travelled 'far and wide' but I'm not really sure how far this qualifies you. The fact that I went to Oxford yesterday afternoon means that I know more about it than I did before, but it does not bestow me with an intimate knowledge of community relations there.

there is undoubtedly a problem in britain, with legal and illegal immigrants ...(of all races) there are simply too many of them for this country to cope with, and the problem does need addressing
but i am not sure stories like this help the matter, other than to stir up anger and hatred

There are an awful lot of blind people in this country!! I live in the same place as I did in the 60s. A little village in sunny surrey near Woking. In the sixties there were no foreigners. Now at least 20% of the village are obviously foreign, or of foreign decent, by that black or asian. And there are also several white foreign families, i.e. Eastern Europeans.
If we had been given a vote on this I dont think there would be quite the anti-foreign feelings that there are, but as usual, anything that successive governments know they'll lose the vote on is just forced on us!!

my mum is the daughter of an immigrant from the 1950s influx. she is the most racist person i know. and i'm proud to say i am brit born and bred - and have claimed benefits. and my point is....so what? trt, you've really disappointed me with this tripe today, not to mention the trash this post has collected. you really should be ashamed of harbouring such scourge. and who said australia is nice? i think that's really down to your politics as well, really.
I've got no problem with any of this. Most of my relatives have lived in different parts of the world, with work or in the Services, and many of my good friends are what you would no doubt describe as immigrants. I'd far rather live here in a multicultural society, than anywhere else. Multiculturalism has enriched my life enormously.
