He turned it down because it wasn't big enough. It had 11 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. In his own country, he would have one room, where he would sleep on a bed and the rest of his family would sleep on the floor! What is this country coming to when people who have paid taxes sleep in cardboard boxes, and this scum demands a mansion?
in the not too distant past people had big families because of poor or non existent family planning. Now that is readily available why have so many if you can't support them. Someone else said what i have always thought, why should anyone get money off the state for having children, they are the parents responsibility not the state and no one forces you into having them.
maybe, but we could improve the many failing schools, and improve on hospital care, and so forth. The welfare bill for child benefits must be enormous. Then perhaps we wouldn't be so overpopulated if people had no child support, i am all for helping those in desperate need, but this is a lifestyle choice.
Not everyone with big families claims benefits!!
The always mention child benefit...but what they forget to mention is child benefit replaced tax breaks. Instead of giving the main earner a tax break....they introduced CB which was given to the main carer. Everyone is entitled to it...
Does this family really want a luxury house. Or would they just like a house that wasn't making the kids sick?

umm no one said that is the case, but consider how much it costs just to keep two children, a small fortune, clothes alone, then child care costs if you go out to work, food, books, the list is endless, so if you have 10 kids then you have to be earning a lot. if these people had thought that they wouldn't get any child benefits then perhaps they wouldn't have had as many.
as i said many had them because the father wouldn't use protection, or it wasn't available due to various religious practices. I know about that because my father was the same, and so were most in his family who were Irish Roman Catholics and at that time there was no child benefit, so they kept on churning out babies. Why would it matter how many children i have, if we supported them it's no one's business.
not so long ago, there are still many who won't use contraception, goes against their religious beliefs. As i said all along if you have children then have enough money to support them, if not don't do it, they are yours for the rest of your life after all. Even if they leave home, you don't stop caring, or paying.
Ummm does have a point about CB replacing tax breaks actually. I'm not mad keen on people churning out babies for profit, but I actually think that happens pretty rarely, though nor am I one who would be happy to see children suffer because of their parent's percieved ' fecklessness'. I do however take great offence at the assumption of some that anyone with a large family is a burden on the tax payer. It's simply not true.
