France's Sarkozy kicked out two radical extremists within hours of an expulsion order, but Britain although getting permission to get rid of hate preacher Abu Hamza and others, they still have three months to appeal, all at the taxpayers expense.

And now we hear that only 40% of the foreign criminals who have been released from jail since 2006 have been removed from the UK, and at least 50 have disappeared completely.

what we are doing wrong is letting others dictate what we can and cannot do. If like the French who seem to have no problem at all getting rid of their undesirables, we should take these people to the airport, no publicity, and hand them over the Americans, job done Once it is known that they are out of British hands, and on American soil, perhaps the rest of the scum...

your argument is specious because we don't know how many attacks there would have been without our security service operations
Ironic that you think these people are no more dangerous than a spider and you Then include an Animal Rights attack (5 years ago) as proof.

If like the French who seem to have no problem at all getting rid of their undesirables, we should take these people to the airport, no publicity, and hand them over the Americans, job done Once it is known that they are out of British hands, and on American soil, perhaps the rest of the scum that want to hurt innocent men, women and children here will get the message, step out of line, make death threats and plot against Britain and you will be gone for good, back to your home country if need be or if US requests your extradition we have no problem in doing so.
and if they are home grown terrorists, they go to jail for life.
<<if they are home grown terrorists>>

have any of these people earmarked for extradition been convicted as such of terrorism?
Agree with ludwig and em.

Where the heck have I said that?
Wasn't it President Lyndon Johnson who said "It's probably better to have him inside the tent pi$$ing out, than outside the tent pi$$ing in. "

I did not say that I did, so don't read into my answers what you wish to read.

I was simply answering jake-the-peg's comments, who seems less bothered about pending terrorist's attacks.
It certainly is better to have him inside the tent pi$$ing out, than outside the tent pi$$ing in. Infinitely more preferable still would be to have him far enough away from the tent so that it did not matter where he urinated.

The notion that we should accommodate dangerous terrorists here in the UK because we can monitor what they get up to is so laughable that I cannot believe jake is serious. Following that logic, then, best get them ALL over here, accommodate them at taxpayers’ expense and then we can really see what they’re ALL doing! Give me strength.

The vast majority of people in the UK do not want, in their midst, people who despise them, their way of life and their country and who would, given the chance, cause untold damage, injury and death (please tell me if I’ve got that wrong). The analogy between them and the poisonous spider is quite appropriate. It is not the level of damage each can achieve that is under debate, it is the location of each of them that is being challenged. The best place for such people is elsewhere. Anywhere else in fact other than here. And no, I don’t care if they are sent to places where they may be treated inhumanely, or tortured, or convicted using evidence obtained by torture. In fact, I don’t care about them at all.
NJ, well said, and quite frankly i don't think the majority of people do either, only those who agree with their skewed thinking and backwards ideology would.
I am being a Pedant here, AOG

The Exeter bombing was not an Islamic terrorist and I actually wonder if they got this one right in terms of sentence. This was someone who had mental learning issues (ESN) in old speak and who got taken in by some Islamist (and that should be the person incarcerated).

As to MI5, I agree that they have probably prevented several attacks, some of which have been alluded to, many we do not - and possibly this one of the reasons that DC was honoured as he was in DC recently...

Yes, we should disencourage Britain as a haven for any terrorist crackpot of whatever persuasion and thank goodness, the verdict went with the Government yesterday; however, we should also be a country that does offer some semblance of decency as to fundamental human rights and work within international frameworks to this. Doesn't mean that we are "soft" though...
NJ - brilliant, you are definitely speaking for me and my family.
Agree with NJ. Sense over emotion any time.
according to JTP we should put up with these people because it's better that the security services can keep an eye on them. that is wrong on every level, they should have no place in this country, no where to hide, have a family or indeed are able to exist whilst decent taxpayers are footing their bills.
They didn't come here for our weather. They knew our government was a soft touch and could continue their plotting and evilness without too much hindrance. Even in prison they can indoctrinate others.
anotheoldgit "2007 January - February: The 2007 United Kingdom letter bombs" would they be the ones sent by a former primary school caretaker? Do you think we should wary of janitors?
Hear hear NJ, well said.
^^ I'll second that.
the french are great at dealing with rabble rousers, all except hitler, they left him to us to sort out
