Where the police intentionally racist?

Once more it seems that increasingly overused word still carries weight in some quarters.
/// Mr David's mother, Winifred Griffith, told reporters: "If Kester had been a white man the police would have conducted a much more effective investigation." ///
One could equally ask if the victim had been a white man, what would be the chances of his family carrying enough persuasion, to get the police to re-open the case?

People of low intelligence tend to be unconsciously racist, and the police force tends to attract people of low intelligence, because it's one of the highest paid jobs that a thicko can aspire to. That's not to imply that all police officers are thick, just that they tend to be in the majority.

That is just their opinion and we will never know why the original police investigation was so poor. Their could be many reasons for the police failing to properly investigate the case. It could have been racism, or it could have been another reason.
// Police investigating the death of an African-Caribbean man found burned alive failed to interview vital witnesses for more than a year, despite people contacting officers within hours to report their suspicions, the Guardian has learned.
Officers concluded that the death of Kester David in July 2010 in north London was suicide without interviewing a witness who told of hearing screams of fear and another witness who was suspicious at seeing two white men near the scene. //
The Coroner failing to agree with the Police's conclusion probably led to the case being re-opened rather than any persausion from the dead man's family.

What is the difference between screams of fear and just screams?
Don't you think anyone would 'scream' if they set themselves on fire?

The most sensible action for the police to have taken would have been to interview the witness.
"Can you describe the screams? Was the person coherent? Was he screaming 'No...no...stop?' or was it a scream of pain?"
Based on the answers to the interview, the police could then have a better understanding of whether there were suspicious circumstances to follow up on.
As to whether inaction was down to racism - who knows? Had the victim been white and someone had reported two black teenagers acting suspicously in the area that the body had been found the police may have treated the case differently, or they may not.
It's impossible to tell without a crystal ball (or a Tardis).

Yes it seems very strange why the witnesses were not interviewed, but I find it couldn't possibly be because the victim happened to be black.
In their own interests when a suspicious death is discovered, they generally will be most thorough in their investigations (regardless of colour), so as to find a reason for the death, but like in all other occupations mistakes can be made.

Re: your post of 11:09. Quite. It seems that the original investigation was subject to 'a degree of bungling'.
This may have been down to a lack of manpower, miscommunication, forensic errors or indeed a prejudgment on causality based on race (ie. UNintentiional racism).
The family have nothing to go on, and are desperate for answers. By accusing the Met of racism (a hot button topic since Stephen Lawrence), this process *might* just end up with the conviction of a couple of murderers.
Alternatively, it may conclusively be shown that Mr Griffith *did* take his own life.

<<Even though this is directly aimed at those who have, and those who are serving in the police force and even the ED.>>
So Old Git, if they are not <people with Erectile Dysfunction>
who are <the ED>
your OP and the article you posted makes no reference to any group that would seem to take this abbreviation
Perhaps posting obscure abbreviations is the <abuse> (self?) you are referring to

Not sure why you thin Rojash is abusive. A bit to the point maybe, have to spoken to many Plod? They are either knuckle draggers in a helment or some liberal college kid with no clue. The result? A right disaster.
Plod regularly bungle cases. I suspect you are right in saying that a white parent would not have the race card to play, however there may well be others they could.

"chastise rojash for his disgustingly deliberate offensive post?"
Nothing disgusting or deliberately offensive about it AOG. Just stating a plain fact. You can get into the Police with exactly the same qualifications as are required to server hamburgers in McDonald's. And I did add "That's not to imply that all police officers are thick".

Plod?????????????
Knuckle draggers in a helmet??????????????
Some liberal college kid??????????????
All this sounds as if you have something against the police, they have not been on your case by any chance?
If not why do you insult them in such a way, and who do you suggest take their place?
They are like the armed forces all too easy to insult them, until such times when you may wish to seek the protection they can give you.
