It`s a day the English share their pride in their nationality as we do with St. Patrick. There are people on here who will know more about St. George than you and I ever will but let them enjoy being English,share their greetings, and enjoy their day. And thank them for sharing it with us.
St George as we visualise him owes more to art than history... in the same way our ancestors believed in the image of a fair skinned blonde jesus as that was how he was painted ... so on one level we know this is not the truth behind the story and are happy to accept the informed reality but on another level we react to the idealisation because we prefer it.
Perhaps you would feel safer wearing one of these, AOG?
