Secondly it is nice to know that you will allow me to have an opinion.
Thirdly - how did I arrive at that view? Probably my perfectly normal upbringing, Gromit.
Finally - yes it was my view, and others on here have differing opinions. That does not make them or even me wrong.

Don't want to try it, AOG. I haven't got a romantic bone in my body. Sex isn't about romance. There is nothing romantic about having sex. Some people enjoy the romance before getting to bed.....it's out the window from that point.
So, had they wined and dined the surrogate, bought her flowers and played sweet music, before inseminating her with a turkey baster.....that'll be fine?

Which is exactly my point. Why do people assume that children brought up by two gay men will have no contact with women? There are aunts, cousins, grannies etc etc...all of whom will have an impact positive and negative on the child's upbringing.
So it goes back to my question - why, when there isn't a shred of evidence to prove that children from same-sex relationships are at a disadvantage, do some people insist they are?

Okay - let's park the word 'homophobic' (by the way bazwillrun - the word 'homophobic' wasn't hijacked by anyone - that was a very niave thing to write).
Why are children of same-sex relationships at a disadvantage.
I'm happy to be educated on this, because I've read a few studies from US universities which have concluded the very opposite.

/// You seem to think that in order for the discussion to be valid, everyone has to agree with you oldgit.///
/// If anyone says they disagree, you get all mardy and accuse them of trying to shut you up and stifle the debate. 'twas ever thus. ///
I have never said everyone must agree with me, but it is the attitude taken against me when I fail to agree with them that I have a grievance with, such as your reference of me being 'Mardy' for instance.
Petty name calling and various other methods are often used to try and belittle, alienate or ridicule a person, but this only goes to highlights a persons inability to conduct a reasonable 'for or against' argument.

A simple look back at numerous posts on this site, as if this particular thread wasnt enough (and on plenty of other forums inhabited by numerous lefties and handwringers) will show you how very wrong you are....yet again
PS try not to be so patronising, its very annoying
