no one forgets, who can when we are constantly be reminded that it's the few who do these things. All the while ignoring the fact that it's often Muslim against Muslim. I wish that we had stayed out of these hotspots, like Iraq and Afghanistan. But tell me who complains when it all goes pear shaped, and they need help. Britain shouldn't follow the USA into any more wars, especially in the Middle East, if they have a beef, then let them sort it out.

current uprisings, Arab Spring, call it what you will. Past times are just that, past. The world is in turmoil, and i cannot see that our presence in any of the places i have already mentioned should be something we should continue with, nor should we have gone there in the first place.

AOG is correct by the way, piracy has been a mainstay of life for centuries, and something i remembered reading a little while back. Over a million Europeans were captured over time and sold into slavery by North African pirates. It was centuries ago of course, but no one is immune from barbarous acts.
There problem is the fact that slavery and other atrocities still take place today.
