Just noticed in the obituary columns of my local paper the death of Lord Glenamara, quondam Ted Short, Education Minister and deputy leader of the Labour Party under Harold Wilson, at the age of 99. This set me wondering just how many politicians from that era are still alive. Apart from three of the Gang of Four I can't think of many others.
