Ok you do-gooders, is this the call for the rope?how many more times have you to listen to the news, look at the daily papers & see on a daily basis the amount of murders that are getting committed.
i am not a doo gooder, yet i am uneasy about the death penalty, there are times when i wish it would return, there have been some callous murderers, rapists, one could happily get rid of, but wouldn't that make us as bad as them, only it would be state sanctioned.
I wonder what your opinion would be if these young police women were your daughters? & by the way, they were only doing their jobs! " to protect the public".
TWR, that is the same old argument that gets trotted out when the Capital Punishment issue is raised.
How would I fel if it was my daughter? Devastated and vengeful, obviously.
But fortunately for all of us, laws are not passed on the basis of how we feel at any time in any circumstance.
The law is debated and considered dispassionatgely, and arrived at largely for the good of the majority, and emotions and revenge are kept firmly out of the process.
And that is what makes our society civilised.
Hopefully, this post will not be met with a response beginning "So you think ..." which is the standard precursor to any post on here that goes on to demonstrate that the respondent has completely misunderstood the point to which they are replying.
mcfluff do you honestly think that this scum would have murdered these policewomen in cold blood if he thought that there was the prospect of he himself dangling at the end of a hangmans noose???..i doubt it...capital punishment should be re-introduced for police killers...and then there should be a referendum to vote on its re-introduction across the board...
