deggers, but you nor i or indeed the rest of the world knew that until they were discovered. No one knows his actual motive, nor why he saw fit to run off with a 15 year old schoolgirl. He isn't 21 is he, but 30, a married man to boot.
He will not be ble to get another teaching job as this will show up on his enhanced CRB check and I doubt if he would get a good reference after all this. The rules are in place for a reason. If he had used his head he would have waited until she was sixteen and if still a pupil at the school, he could have got a job somewhere else.
I hope that whoever or whatever is appointed to assess this unfortunate situation does in an equable and understanding way unlike the vitriolic rhetoric that we have seen spouted by some on AB.
Am I the only one who thinks that this has not deserved headline news. She wasn't in danger, they knew who she was with, she went of her own accord. I agree it is a 'crime' but not headline crime. Loads of people of her age are missing, REALLY missing, who knows where they are or who they are with.
So, do you really think the parents should have sat back and done nothing? Imagine the feeding frenzy the papers would have with that, 'mother lets 15 year old daughter run off with 30 year old teacher'
It all needs to be kept in perspective. Yes we can all strictly quote the law and all that but we aren't talking about a helpless kid half the age being taken against her will. What were any of us like at that age? I had all sorts of crushes on some of my teachers and might even have done the same thing.
I have NO IDEA what i WOULD DO.........but what I THINK I would do would be to try and understand that she felt that she loved this guy and wanted to be with him, in which case i would NOT stand in their way.
Just try telling a 15year old today that they don't RARELY know what love is.............cus I REALLY don't know.
