Was it just me or did I hear , on the rolling news channel BBC, the reader refer to the 'arrival of the Prince and Princess of Wales.' yesterday.
About time too, I thought, and hope they won't be mealy mouthed about calling her Queen when the time comes...

I too was never a great fan of Saint Diana. Charles and camilla are much better suited to each other, and I, for one, WILL refer to her as Queen when the time comes. And for all those who that the succession should pass to Willam, this isn't some Hollywood production. Assuming Charles outlives his mother, then he will be King, whether peeps like it or not.

just as an aside, if and when the coronation of charles and camilla does come around, will those who don't agree with her being his queen refuse to take the national day off we will be granted?
I personally cannot wait, no disrespect or ill will to our Queen but I have never witnessed a coronation as i was born 3 years too late!

As far as I am aware, this was not a morganatic marriage, so therefore Camilla is entitled to use her husband's titles. The fact that she chooses not to is as a mark of respect for Diana and to cater to public feeling (which after 15 years probably ought to be laid to rest for once and for all).
Nox, good comparison with the Beauforts. I suppose it ended well for John and Katherine and eventually their descendents, even if there was a bit of blood shed in the intervening years.

I like Camilla she and Charles are good together he seems very happy in her company. Having said that Camilla is a divorced woman, I thought that was one of the reasons for Edward VIII's abdication, or will they talk their way out of that little problem? I can't dismiss the idea that Diana was used badly by the Royal Family, and that her death was more than just an accident. As for being adulterous, she was a goodlooking young woman whose husband was making a tit of himself elsewhere (remember the phone calls he wanted to be Camilla's tampax fgs. What was she expected to do, join a nunnery?
Baldric's earlier link is very interesting.
