No problem there but how is it that they can get fat living on benefits? surely we are paying them too much in the first place. How can they afford to smoke drink and live on takeaways? Benefits must be huge.

well ummmm drinking does contribute to obesity but overall I was making the point that in Britain we pay so much to those on benefits that they can afford to smoke drink and have takeaways.

not only food depression many on pills some of which make yougain weight or make you lethargic if you were not already...on the couch watching JK doesn't take that much food to do the damage if you don't burn it off

Quite why we haven't reinstated the old system of Workhouses, is beyond me.

We could feed the shiftless and feckless thin gruel thereby ensuring that they have a body-shape more fitting to their lowly status; we could also out-source the management of these Workhouses to China, thereby enabling Local Authorities to make real savings which could be stock-piled to be spent on vanity projects .........

When you can buy a lasagne for a pound, it's easy to see how people can become obese when they are on a limited budget, add that to fact that they probably don't know how to cook...

maybe rather than job centres the unemployed should report to 'fit centres' where they can be taught to shop and cook on a tight budget and where they have to prove they have done a cetain amount of exercise before they get their next payment... removes tongue from cheek
