No problem there but how is it that they can get fat living on benefits? surely we are paying them too much in the first place. How can they afford to smoke drink and live on takeaways? Benefits must be huge.

You have made numerous sweeping generalisations in both of your data sets.
I may be in the minority but I am unable to fathom your argument as presented.

Or should we explain to those on the dole that it was us, the voting public, that put these 'clowns' into power?
I am still baffled by your lumping together people on benefits, pensioners (not all are hard up), RNLI personnel (largely volunteers) through to service personnel who get a salary and a trade/education.
Not all MPs fiddled their expenses, the majority claimed within the rules that were set at the time, a number of the rules have subsequently been amended (as they have across the Public Sector), those who did abuse the system have paid the price.
We have regular opportunity to change our MP and to change how the country is run. In the same vein their is nothing to stop anyone of us running for Parliament of we feel strongly enough about making a difference.
