For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.There are 2 Bulgarians who worked with me and they have been here 5 years, great guys, very smart, one has been to uni and has moved on to use his IT skils and degree as a software designer for a local company, the other one is now a supervisor in another store and very competent. they've never been out of work since arriving and have always supported themselves.
and you know this how, that the romanians, bulgarians, russians, poles, do all the jobs we won't do? Please supply a link to that statement, because i sure as hell don't believe a word of it. Nor do i believe that nonsense that has been banded around for so long, that the reasons the West Indians came here in the early 50s or before, was because some British men and women were too lazy to work in those particular jobs, NHS, buses, and so on, forever forgetting that after the war there was a shortfall in workers, due to many men and women being killed fighting to keep this little island from being invaded.

//have any foreigners ever been welcomed, em? But all of them have enriched the country "
they may not have been welcomed as such, but they werent resented as much because prior to around 40/50 years ago they never flooded in such numbers

Why is the statement a joke ?
LL the same Eastern Europeans who sit around and drink, those in our local parks, the ones who have taken to a life of crime, the ones being picked up by the local police for burglary, and living off Immoral earnings, the ones trafficking in young girls from Eastern Europe.
and some won't see that they have brought their fair share of problems with them.
Open borders to all, if that is what makes a country work, then heaven help us in years to come, when those people depart for their homelands, when they have had their fill and can go home.

LL, come and live where we do, take a walk around Tower Hamlets, Deptford, and many places besides, see women walking around dressed in Burkha and veiled, that is not something i thought would be part and parcel of mainstream life in modern Britain, but it is. This isn't a multicultural, multifaith, all live and jog along together society, but piecemeal, and fractured. I see it here in the capital, but i also see it in other places. I do know as much about the city i live in as anyone, and it's a hodge podge of many nationalities, many of whom wouldn't ever consider themselves British. Where once that was the tie that bound us, not anymore.
Em. I am talking about the Eastern Europeans workers that work and work hard. We have a lot of British people that do what you say in your posting em!! I would ship out British Nationals and any foreign nationals who don't comply with the law and cause trouble.
AOG. The jobs are advertised at paid at minimal legal rate. The Brits don't apply and if they do apply and get a job, they leave - it's too much like hard work and they are slaphappy with timekeeping.
ummmm. Exactly!!

I watched a programme a while back set round my area and Lincs .
It was all veg picking and packing etc .The locals were moaning that the Polish people etc were taking jobs away from them .So they took on locals as an experiment .I think they lasted less than a week .Lazy b's couldn't be bothered to get out of bed /it was too cold / crip money/ any excuse not to work .
That's why the Polish people had the jobs ....because they worked and were reliable .
