how wise is Prince Harry to admit publicly that he's killed Taliban? surely he's now going to need extra security....at the tax payers expense of course

he has been out there for 5 months and will be home from duty soon, why does that make him dim, nor is it he will need extra security, that comes with the territory of being part of the Royal Household i would have thought. So he killed Taliban, so have many, that also comes with the job
The bane of his life from what he was saying is the press, they have at least allowed him the time to get on with his day job, i wish him well.
I can't see why he's going to need extra security. He's protected anyway. He didn't come across as dim to me. He seems pretty down to earth.
like the guy a lot....buy him a pint or two anytime...
From what I have seen of him he seems a genuine and caring guy who is incredibly grounded and down to earth. The fact that he has admitted to doing his job, like every other soldier out there, does not make him dim at all.

Would you rather he said that he had stayed safe and hidden in some high security camp whilst watching everybody else put their lives on the line?

He's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. IMO some people are just never happy and need to find something to moan about.
It's not cut and dried that he has killed, only shot at. BBC:
On his role in Afghanistan, one journalist said: "You are the man with the trigger in your hand, and if called upon, you will fire, and presumably you have and you will kill the enemy?"

The prince responded: "Yeah, so lots of people have. The squadron's been out here. Everyone's fired a certain amount. Probably a little bit more than this time last year, to a certain extent, but that's just the way that its balanced out. Mainly due to weather, well whatever the reasons, I don't know.

"We fire when we have to, take a life to save a life, but essentially we're more of a deterrent than anything else."

He said missions to recover injured troops were a key role.

"Our job out here is to make sure the guys are safe on the ground.

"Now if that means shooting at someone who's shooting at them, then we'll do it."
he is a serving soldier, and some as been pointed out just like to have a go at him, not exactly sure why.
He already gets extra security. and it is very costly.

Not sure it should be something to gloat about though. Most ex-soldiers I know tend to quietly play down if they have killed people.
If he's shot Taliban, what's the problem? I hope he has.
he wasn't gloating, if you actually watched the interview, no one does, he was asked all sorts of questions, and responded as openly as i suspect he is able.
I don't think he was "gloating" at all Gromit, just being honest about what's going on out there and admitting to his part in it.
Gromit, I don't know what you were watching, but I didn't see him gloating. I saw him answering the questions put to him.
He seemed to be quite matter of fact about it all.
He also seems a down-to earth guy/man.
i reckon that he is in a no win situation, damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. at least the bloke is doing his job, getting on with it.
I wonder how long it has been since a prince of the blood royal has had blood on his hands?
Judging from his previous antics, the Nazi uniform, naked on camera in Vegas, even shooting a protected species of hawk, nice but dim seems to fit the bill.
How does any of that make him 'dim' Sandy?
So what's he supposed to go to Afghanistan and do as Captain Wales with a chopper? Cut wood for the camp barbecue? I hope he nailed a good few of the bastards.

Where was the gloating in that interview - you're just anti royal, Gromit, admit it, and you look to snipe away at them whenever you can. Not unless you were watching a version that none of the rest of us were.
Prince Andrew in the Falklands is the answer to the blood on hands.
sandyRoe, the folly of youth - something, that if we're honest, we have all experienced - or perhaps you haven't?
Wearing a Nazi uniform and not giving a thought to the hurt that might cause to many of his grandmother's subjects is either 'dim' or arrogance writ large.
Did Andrew fly attack helicopters?
Prince William of Orange would have been my choice for the last red handed prince.
I certainly don't think he is dim - like him - seems down to earth and honest. A lot more use than Andrew & Edward - not they ARE a waste of space.
