Ridding The World Of Terrorism - Can Cameron Handle It?
http:// www.bbc .co.uk/ news/uk -politi cs-2124 8277
The world would be a safer place without terrorism no doubt. But a report recently says there are over 1,000,000 militant Muslims and their offshoots spread throughout the world. We have seen what terror they can cause in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and now a major slice of North Africa. Now that Obama is taking a back seat this void is led by Cameron. Does he deserve our encouragement?

The muslim threat only started to affect us from the day the House of Saud did a deal with the septics to allow US planes to use Saudia Arabia as a base to bomb saddam when he invaded Kuwait.
osam bin Laden basically went ballistic and decide he now had a new enemy the West.
He was extremely unhappy to say the least that the House of Saud was going to allow american planes to use saudi airfileds to launch and bomb and kill the muslim brothers.
as a result the saudis also did a deal with the septics wherby the USA would help protect Saudi Arabia from the expected problems that Osam bin Laden had threatened and the Septics would also get certain garauntees regarding the supply and price of oil.
the Taliban were recruited by Osam because of their experience of fighting off the russkies and not having much else to do at the time the thought of all bin ladens money (gained from the construction industry amongst others) to buy arms etc was too much of an offer to turn down
And here we are today its now spread to include all sorts of other problems, Israel & Palestine is now used as an excuse for most of it...thats just tosh.
If it wasnt for Saddam invading Kuwait the west in all likelihood would not be having the problems it does from these groups

@Zeuhl
Oh so its all the fault of the septics....not Saddam
I mean how far back do you intend going here ?
you might as well blame the pilgrims for setting off and and kickstarting what became the USA or maybe the government of england that made things so bad that they had to leave in the first place,or how about.....nah forget it

/////what's the third one, Keyplus?////
Yeah, true that I missed the 3rd one, its 31st January, tax returns, fines, etc, so many things, but any way here is the third one,
3 - Third and the most important is to dump double standards when it comes to condemnation of killings of innocent people. Killing of a Palestinian child should be given as much condemnation as much an Israeli child will get. Dumping of double standards by the big countries when it comes to acting upon UNO resolutions.

i'd be interested to see your explanation of how US foreign policy has its roots in the objectives of The Pilgrim Fathers
I thought they were all about radical thinking, religious freedom and peaceful coexistence with people of different cultures.
Though obviously it did lead to a certain amount of Ethnic Cleansing

Jeepers its like pizzing into the wind with some people on here.
I made a simple analogy by asking how far back do you want to go to aportion blame, cause and effect whatever terminology you want to use because you decided to go back and blame the septics for dumping Saddaam.
But the reasons I gave were the direct precursor to 9/11 and subsequent events, if you want to keep going back to find cause then Im sure you could just go back to day one of mans history on the planet !

It’s interesting that Keyplus, as far as I know the only Muslim taking part in this discussion, comes up with different solutions to terrorism – only one of them (number 1) agreeing with the solution given by most others here. As I said at the beginning, it is not simply a matter of them wishing to live their own way in their own country.
1 - West should not try implementing their own life style on other countries.
2 - Someone needs to control CIA (USA) and their weapon business.
3 - Third and the most important is to dump double standards when it comes to condemnation of killings of innocent people. Killing of a Palestinian child should be given as much condemnation as much an Israeli child will get. Dumping of double standards by the big countries when it comes to acting upon UNO resolutions.
Incidentally, Rageh Omaar, the Somali born journalist, says that Muslims still see the west as the Crusaders of old – and for them the battle continues. I think he’s right. It will never end.

// Now that Obama is taking a back seat this void is led by Cameron. //
There are only two things wrong with that statement. The US are not taking a backseat, and the current push is led by Hollande not Cameron.
We are promising minor help because it is in our self interest not to have al qaeda on our doorstep.

Now I have read all of the posts so let’s start by saying something to someone who believes that everyone else is simply just like her,
Naomi – When I say that I did not read the posts then I mean that I did not read the posts. But Of course your mentality tells you that I might be telling a lie because most probably you think that everyone behaves like you do. But that is the main difference between a person of faith and one with no faith aka atheist. Because I know that I might be able to fool others by telling a lie but on the Day of Judgment I would be asked about that whereas for you that Day of Judgment does not exist.
JTP said exactly what I said and he said that before my first post.
Ratters ///This world will always be at war as long as we have Muslims! and unfortunately they don't seem to be going away!///
So you are of a point that all of the Muslims should be killed? Am I right or please correct if I am wrong in understanding your post, and perhaps you ask the opinion of someone else who believes that you have hit the nail on the head.
Naomi /////No, but in his case, it implies that he is an elected leader - and that's not quite the same thing either.////
So were Taliban when USA & CO invaded Afghanistan, and so is Hamas then why the West do not accept them as elected? A simple answer will do. Did I talk about double standards somewhere?
Finally I agree with what AndyHughes, Zeuhl and Micovwar said.

And here is something I found on the internet to refresh memory of those people who only have a processor fitted that goes as far as last few years.
Who started the 1st world war? Was it Muslims?
Who started the 2nd world war? Was it Muslims?
Who killed about 20 million Aboriginals in Australia? Was it Muslims?
Who sent the nuclear bombs to Hiroshima & Nagasaki? Was it Muslims?
Who killed more than 100 million Indians in North America? Was it Muslims?
Who killed 50 million Indians in South America? Was it Muslims?
Who took about 180 millions of African people as slaves , of whom 88% died and were thrown into the Atlantic Ocean? Was it Muslims?

Keyplus , listing previous wars and who was responsible through history is nothing to do with this discussion.
You have never and probably will never give an opinion/answer that does not side with everything bad about Islamic extremists today as is my opinion you probably are one.
All I ever hear you talk about is damning report/statistics that critize Muslims or Islamic terrorism. All you ever do is try to justify and defend what these terrorists causes are by giving anecdotes about conflicts and wars that have been carried out by other nations throughout time.
Bottom line is you're a joke. Your idealogies and views on the western world are no different from the Taliban/al-Qaeda and the other millions of Muslims who want to see the west burn to the ground and rise with Sharia Law/beheadings/stoning to death/burkas/uneducated women with no rights. Frankly I'm even fascinated you still live in this part of the world......oh wait, that's right our laws, freedom and safety are too comfortable aren't they?
