Tuart Hall To Be Sued - What A Surprise
I did say a week or so back on this forum that many of these people who are bringing up old cases like Stuart Hall's case are doing it mainly to extract money from the "rich and famous".
Well here we have proof, a number of people are now going to sue Stuart Hall.
What next, adverts on TV saying "Been molested by a famous person- go to web site ive_been_molested.com - there is no win no fee".

A person grows up and is influenced greatly by their early experiences but they also mature and experience more of life's offerings and some people will learn to heal and make the experience a part of their copying strategy to handle greater or lesser traumas, other people will block out the experience and create their own boundaries and choose their path with a different perspective, others will career towards self destruction and never recover from the trauma and it will consume them, then there are those who it does not touch at all and shrug it off, then there is everyone else,
I have been flashed at (at five years old), sexually assaulted numerous times by different people and raped (sorry for the details, guys). All of these events (between the ages of five and fifteen) all had a damaging effect on my psyche. I have serious mental health problems now (all throughout my adult life) and my relationship is still affected by what happened.....but fortunately my hubby of 20 years understands all of my foibles. I have no intention of suing anyone or reporting it as I want it all to remain firmly in my past. When I go back home to see my folks(every couple of years) I sometimes see the perpetrators out and about and it is really hard for me.....I can understand why some people don't report incidents of this nature until they are much older......but not suing somebody. I a;m happ with who I am now and wouldn't want to disturb that.....and especyially being in the media for it......I would be horrified by that. Peace everyone x
So all these people coming out about how they were sexually attacked or offended by these so called celebrities years ago want compensating now! Why not when it was done all those years ago did they not come forward then?
Is it because its so easy now with all these claim lawyers its easy pickings ?
Is getting money going to make the victims feel better, is not time in prison for the offender not enough!

That is a tough call and a difficult situation to have to deal with and you have dealt with it in your own way. I would guess, based on nothing more than my experience of lives, that other women are in the same unenviable situation.

I can understand compensation being paid if his victims had suffered some physical injuries ie lost a leg or arm etc, then money would help them to adapt their life to their injuries, but money cannot help to heal mental injuries, unless of course they have to pay for special counselling.
No the chance to get their hands on a bit of cash is all that they are after.

/// AOG, your mind is obviously set and closed to a different opinion.
I hope that none of your loved ones are victims because you would be unable to support them emotionally. ///
That is rather silly saying that, of course I would be able to support them emotionally, that has nothing to do with money.
Regarding any cash payout, would it have helped his victims at the time if he had apologised to them after the assault or rape, by saying sorry here is a wad of cash, hope you can forget about this now?
No of course not, so why is anything now different after all these years?

Cost of counselling is claimed as special damages, aog, being a set calculable sum. Are you suggesting that no other damages than those so calculable by adding up bills should be claimable? If so, loss of enjoyment can't be claimed; a deprivation of quality of life. To claim that "mental injury" isn't a proper subject of action unless the claimant can claim cost of counselling goes against well-established law, and while you're perfectly free to wish that the law be rewritten, you're on to a loser. The damages for a broken leg aren't representing the cost of the medical treatment, or the loss of earnings, by doing some accountancy, and "mental injury" is no different.
