starone I hate to disappoint you but the last poll taken did show a clear majority in favour of keeping a monarch (I can't remember the stats).
Anyway, I hope Phil gets the necessary treatment and returns to good health as I wouldn't like to imagine his wife without him.
crikey craft i can't imagine us without him or his mrs it's all i've ever known i know that, a lifetime with them there, just can't imagine anything else.
I think the majority of people are in support of the Royal Family, the Golden Jubilee is a good reference point to their popularity that day. I'd much rather have our cosseted royalty than some murderous dictator like Mugabe or Assad. But whats the betting that they can hop into their jet/helicopter and visit a private clinic anywhere in the world.
Thanks DT. Please do not take it amiss if I continue to fight my own battles.
I do appreciate your input.
Duty, Naomi. But as I see it, doing what is necessary because I wanted to do so.
Yes, I know craft, but my point was that most people are too apathetic to bother with voting for anything so how can you get a true picture? I do agree however that for anyone having to undergo an operation especially at his age is bad and although I am an anti-royalist I do not wish him harm. In fact I hope he gets better, as indeed I would like everyone undergoing the same kind of treatment to get better.
Let this poor old man retire with some dignity. He shouldn't be glad-handing at any party, let alone one in his back garden.
There are enough members of the extended Royal family that stand in his place. What about his other two sons, Andrew and Edward...what do they do all day ?
