I'm generally a supporter of Ryan air, going with the view that their extra charges are all avoidable. However this is definately a new level in exploitation!

Would that be the same EU rotters do you think that are blocking RyanAirs current takeover plans for aer lingus as it would leave consumers with no real choice in flights between the UK and Ireland?

Damn the EU and their constant sticking up for the consumer over the interests of big business!

Ryanair have never made any secret of the £70 charge for printing a boarding pass. (They need to do their very best to ensure that passengers don't turn up at the airport without a valid boarding pass as there systems simply couldn't cope if many people did so).
I've experienced printer problems myself when I've needed to print such a pass. I've simply used an internet café to complete the task. Most libraries also offer a similar facility. I can't see where the problem is.

If the only alternative to flying with the foul-mouthed Mr Ryan's airline was to walk, than I would rush off and get a new pair of walking boots. I heard him being interviewed a few years ago on the Today program and I don't think I have ever heard such an ignorant man in my life.
Don't give this man your money !

the idea is that they want to spend the absolute minimum time at the airport, so as to avoid paying ground fees; therefore they want you not to put luggage that requires loading and unloading in the hold, not to take up staff time handing out boarding passes etc.
I'm with Kevink, EasyJet are much better and given the choice that's who I'd fly with. If you want to go Ryanair, read the entire website. The relevant page is here

Seatguru says: "Discounted rates apply online the first 15 kg checked bag is charged at £15/€15 and the second 15 kg checked bag at £35/€35. If checked baggage fees are paid for either at the airport or through a Ryanair call centre, the higher rate of £35/€35 for the first 15 kg bag and £70/€70 for the second 15 kg bag applies."
So if you must check in luggage, for heaven's sake do it online.
