She is entitled to give her money to whoever she wishes, if she want to support black culture and history events and issues then that is her prerogative.
Ms Winfrey is African American

so if she isn't going to support an African American History Museum who is?

/Isn't there any ' white culture ' organisations , that she could also spare a few quid for , from her billions ? /

She is already a patron of the Arts and a variety of charities

So she already does

/// "When I come to this site and see hundreds of people — black, white and Latino — working on this," Bunch says, "in some ways it says what the African-American experience is, which is the story of us all." ///

NO!!!!! They are there simply to earn a crust of bread, just like any other workers.
Can't see what point that you failing to make here Basile ? Why can't she give her money to whoever she wants to ? What possible business is it of yours ?
What's your objection , baz? That African-American culture and history is a fiction? That white millionaires should give both to black and to white culture? That they shouldn't, but black ones should?
We are all a bit confused here Bazile...have another go at making your point, this time so that we can understand !

Actually, this is a tongue in cheek post .

I know that there are a few on here who appear to have a problem with African / Black history , stories / issues being aired
Bazile-

Ms Winfrey is an African-American woman - you can tell if you look at her picture or see her on TV.

"I am so proud of African-American history and its contributions to our nation as a whole," says Winfrey, chairman and CEO of the Oprah Winfrey Network. "I am deeply appreciative of those who paved the path for me and all who follow in their footsteps."

""When I come to this site and see hundreds of people — black, white and Latino — working on this," Bunch says, "in some ways it says what the African-American experience is, which is the story of us all."

Do you actually read your links before you attach them?
aog's interpretation is rather less prosaic than that of the museum's founding director

perhaps because he wasn't there, hasn't been involved and understands relatively little of it
what's Ash got to with it?

Is this some form of get out for you Baz, which is most unusual, nobody has been getting at you have they?
Oh, right, we understand now Bazile ......................?
Quite right though, I'm white. I wish she'd give me some cash.
Bit difficult to interpret the quote, isn't it? The speaker uses 'in some ways' as a caveat or condition and then includes everybody, black , white, and latino, the whole workforce, as a body which represents what black experience has been. We'll have to put it down to poetic or rhetorical language. It doesn't bear aog's literal or prosaic construction

No - no ' get out ' aog .
In fact i thought about putting one of these - :-) - after my post , given that i could not find the tongue in cheek button .
It's a non-story, really - no different to Melissa Gates giving millions of dollars to underprivileged children's charities. You do what you like with your surplus money, it's no business of mine.
/It doesn't bear aog's literal or prosaic construction /

presumably, when aog sees pictures of RAF WW2 squadrons and airmen from all over the Commonwealth and beyond

it says nothing to him

other than: 'it's just people from all over the place who got conscripted'
Question Author
Seriously though - there are lots of people that i admire - she is definitely one of them .

Do you mean, one of them, or, one of THEM ?
