Justice, maybe. If he's a murderer, he's a murderer. Shame it took so long though.
wouldn't you want to know who killed your loved one, i know i would, no matter how long it took. if the person is the one, and is found guilty i hope that he goes down for life. It was a vile crime, when you read how he died.
Are you suggesting that the CPS just 'don't bother'?
if it was him, he wouldn't have been very old.
The murdered PC deserves that the culprit is found and sentenced. Just a shame that his colleagues so badly let him down by persecuting the wrong man.
He would have been 16

That means of course that if he is found guilty the sentence will be that which would have been appropriate for a juvenille

So get ready for the howls of outrage!
I'm sure his 3 sons would like to know who butchered their father.

Three people have been convicted of this crime but later cleared on appeal. It's hard to see what 'new' evidence has come to light after so long. And the value of such evidence, considering the behaviour of some of the detectives involved, will need to be very rigourously tested.
My understanding is that the case could be re-opened due to advances in DNA technology.

^* involved in the investigation that led to the arrest and conviction of Silcott, Braithwaite, and Raghip.
that may be so, but the man was hacked to death,
this man was a 16 year old at the time, if convicted will they try him as an adult,
yes, the record of previous investigation into the matter isn't exactly impressive. Let's see if they get it right this time.
I'm surprised at you Sandy.

Why, Ummm?
Amongst the community in Tottenham it has always been known who murdered PC Blakelock, but due to the fear of reprisals and lack of evidence no one would come forward.

I was once told that what was done to Blakelock would not be a patch on the grass!!
so you wouldn't whoever did this caught..

Blakelock, who had joined the police five years earlier, had been assigned on the night of his death to a unit of 10 constables and a sergeant, known as Serial 502, who were dispatched to protect firefighters. When the officers were forced back by rioters, Blakelock stumbled and fell, and was surrounded by a mob of around 50 people. He received over 40 stabbing and cutting injuries, inflicted by machetes or similar, and the penetration of a six-inch-long knife
missed out the last bit, knife in the neck..
The way he was killed, I'm surprised you wouldn't want the killer/s brought to justice.
I am a supporter of Stephen Lawrence getting justice, so I could hardly think otherwise about PC Blakelock. What a pity the Police just can't seem to get it right first time though.
I think one wrecks it if you dont get it right first time.

Oh, it wasnt X as we 'thought', we now think it is Y

isnt exactly strong as an argument - and then for example in the B'ham bombers, they didnt really think it was X when they were telling the judges and juries it was.... X

hopeless
