Anyway I know it makes people feel good to knock the Royals and their fabulous life - never having a minute without being watched, a minute to speak out like a normal person, a minute to go anywhere and be free. They can keep it.

Rather than be Patron of hundreds of causes and not being able to do them all justice, he is following his mother and picking a handful of causes which he is onterested in. That way he can be effective and spend time doing the job properly.

I concur with what Prudie said entirely.
Furthermore, for those knocking him and saying it's been a waste of money I doubt the people he rescued saw it that way.
Also, the lad has given 7 years of his time in HM Forces, when the majority of those belittling him couldn't even summon the courage to walk through a recruiting office doorway.
