Frankly, I wasn't surprised - kidnapping of a little blonde girl to order was high on the list of motives when Madeleine first went missing. (Her parents don't like her being referred to as Maddie.)

I think this is amazing news and could really turn out to be a turnaround in the search for madelaine and ben nedham, the report clarifies that the motive is not sexual at all but financial as the families are able to claim so many benefits. it's hopefully going to have a good outcome, even though this girl highlighted has obviously developed a bond with the family.

The "mother" claims that the child was adopted. If the family has adopted a child after following all the rules, of course the DNA will not match, but non-matching DNA can't be used as proof of a crime . It may well be possible to prove that the adoption was legitimate, and to the benefit of all concerned.

This story really has disturbed me, mostly because I have my own blonde haired (nearly) 4 year old daughter.

I do hope that she is reunited with her family soon.

Makes you wonder how many more children out there, have been stolen.
I hope this case opens up a really good lead to finding some of them who have not been adopted and filtered through the wrong channels.

At the moment the aurhorities do not know how this girl came to with those Gypsies. There is no connection to the McCann case. Or the Needham case. But feel free to have a speculationathon.

This is just one child, nothing whatsoever to suggest she is one of many nor that blondes are relevant. The fact that her parents have not come forward after 4 days of world news suggests this wasn't a straightforward kidnapping although I hope there is some joyous reunion. Plenty of people abandon their babies the world over.

This is hopeful in the way that some missing children might yet be found safe, but i feel so sorry for this child, who's been seized now from the only family she's ever known. They weren't necessarily bad parents to her. She must be very distressed.

the article said that the woman had registered the birth of 6 children in a 10month period but only 4 children were with the family, they claim £6,900 a month in benefits and can't decide whether the child was left by a woman who never came back, found under a blanket or was given them by another gypsy. kind of a bit more than a straight forward legal adoption and the greek police ahve charged them with human trafficking.

I wasn't trying to say that the fact she is blonde is relevant to her situation, rather that she is very similar to my own daughter in age and appearance. I can't imagine what her parents are going through.
