Why Are We Appeasing The Sweaties?
84 Answers
If they are going to be "independent" next year why do we let them have the ship building up there to the detriment of Portsmouth? Surely its a result for the UK they Leave the UK & EU so why bother giving them a bauble? Many have been saying it's political but I can't see how it can be, it must be some sort of commercial decision.

I have many Scottish friends and aquaintences, they ,like the known Scots on here, do not take offence, as usual it is Liberal jellies taking offence on their behalf. There are many names for the English, I don't have to remind you, we don't mind most of them.
But while there are a few who don't get Yiddish or London, is it not better to think of them Tora? Me, I get some of it, but mostly I converse in criminal talk, which is not much use on here:kiting, the peter, spinning the drum, a carpet, half a stretch, and, of course, Old Bill (please, not THE Old Bill). It goes down a treat at the Village Hall coffee mornings.
I remember a few years ago watching an England football match in a pub with a friend who is an ardent Scotland and Motherwell fan. For reasons that I no longer recall there was a rather obnoxious Sun journalist with us who kept asking my friend how "the Sweaties" had got on in a game earlier that day, knowing full well that my friend was Scottish.
Maybe TTT is that journalist, or of the same ilk.
Anyway, it seems to me that the issue in question makes perfect sense. The sensible folk in the UK don't want Scotland to leave so I would say this is a sweetener. As to what the Scots actually want, which is of most importance, we'll only find out next year.
