Soldier Of Allah
one of the accused over Lee Rigby's murder has described himself as a Soldier of Allah, if so are there more who will follow his example and see this as a war with the west. The family of Lee Rigby must be devastated

It would be unwise of us not to believe that there are more self-styled 'Soldiers Of Allah', emmie. Whether or not they would be prepared to carry out any such atrocities is for time to tell. What has probably happened is that all servicemen and women will have been put on full alert immediately following Lee Rigby's death, even when at home on leave. Which is, of course, understandable, but after a time, this state of alertness will lessen and our brave armed forces will become blase. It is that sort of thing that these butchers are looking for.
And it goes without saying that Lee igby's family must be very brave, indeed, to sit and listen to all that transpired.

Interesting defense
I imagine that if a British soldier or an American or Israeli were arrestred in Tehran after killing an Iranian soldier they would be tried and found guilty too.
Lets face it all those nuclear scientists in Iran that were murdered weren't killed by jealous wives!
Even if you are a soldier, if you're caught operating behind enemy linesyou're at the very least goint to be spending a long long time behind bars.
Still we all know that this isn't a defense - it's an opportunity to publicise his cause.
Nobody actually thought there was going to be a guilty plea did they? what would they get out of that?

indeed, and i don't think i could, i watched the news and the whole story was so very shocking, watching the footage of what they did, talking to the cameras, espousing those words has burned it into my mind, i hope that these two men are found guilty and go to jail for a long time. There doesn't seem any way they could justify their actions.
one thing about soldiers on a battlefield, generally both are armed, so have an equal chance of being injured, killed, whereas this poor boy was not armed, nor indeed would have been, targeted for being a soldier, not a level playing field. If these two men had gone to fight for the Taliban, A Quaeda that would have made more sense, skewed, but at least that would have showed a certain commitment to the cause, but this, i don't think so.
JTP, you seem to have any excuse to dislike, hate our soldiers, i meant level playing field when Lee Rigby was not armed, was walking back to barracks, minding his own business, if he had been killed in Afghanistan doing the job he was paid to do that would have been bad, but not as bad as being butchered in this way. Lee Rigby was not at war with these two men, but they just took their vile thinking, logic out on him, it could of course been anyone...
