A few weeks ago I entered a thread called
"Murderer To Be Allowed A Sex Change."

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/News/Question1290017.html

Well according to the report below, this killer has been up to his tricks while serving his sentence in a Women's prison.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2525441/Transgender-murderer-Paris-Green-moved-womens-prison-sex-inmates.html

Should he now be moved into a male prison, and forget about his NHS funded sex change?

And there was me thinking you had flounced aog!
Sounds like Miss Paris's stay has been well and truly blown...
She'll also get plenty of opportunity for sex in the men's prison too....
he's been killing people while in prison?
The problem with an issue like this - as evidenced in the previous thread which AOG kindly linked as evidence - is the public attitude to trans-sexuals.

It is very easy for those of us with little or no understanding of the issues involved to take a knee-jerk prurient stand and think that, because we find the notion of a sex-change either distasteful, or unecessary, or both, we can assume that it is not valid in this case.

As I see it, the punishment for murder is a prison sentence, which this person has received.

The law does not then bend to deny surgery which would be denied to someone else.

The punishment is prison, not prison 'and some other denial of rights which we tack on because we think this guy is a seedy con-merchant' - just prison.

So no, he should not be moved and should not be denied his operation, because he would receive it outside prison, and as i have observed, he ias already receiving the proscribed punishment for his crime - we don't get to add bits on because we think we should.

/// he's been killing people while in prison? ///

Apparently he has more than one trick up his sleeve, or any other part of his clothing it seems.
Bednobs - sounds more like that he has been creating life in the female prison, or trying to......

Don't you think by his very actions while in this women's prison, he has made himself out to be a bit of a fake as regards his sexuality?
"Don't you think by his very actions while in this women's prison, he has made himself out to be a bit of a fake as regards his sexuality?"

Why do you say that, AOG?
AOG - "Don't you think by his very actions while in this women's prison, he has made himself out to be a bit of a fake as regards his sexuality?"

I don't think it's quite that simple AOG.

Prison is a cold lonely miserable boring place, and people will take natural advantage of any diversion to make themselves feel better - which leads to heterosexual individuals indulging in homosexual behaviour which they would not consider outside that environment.

So although i would agree it is not appropriate behaviour, again, i do not believe the sanction should be to deny the surgery - i am sure the prison system has rules and punishments in place it can use on this occasion.

I am no expert on such matters Andy and nether do I think you are, but i think that the actions of a heterosexual cannot be compared to that of a transgender person.
"...i think that the actions of a heterosexual cannot be compared to that of a transgender person."

Again, why do you think that?
So he wants to be a woman and is attracted to women.
Many things are denied as part of a gaol sentence, I'm unsure that so called "sex change" operations ought not be one of them. Planned life is on hold whist in there.
sexuality is nothing to do with gender. My mate is transgender and is engaged to "his" girlfriend who he was with when he was a man
AOG - I would echo jim360 - can you elaborate please?
If prisoners are allowed to exercise their franchise surely it's not asking too much to allow those who want it a sex change?
AOG....you make a good point.

Here is an individual that "tells" us that he feels like a woman (whatever that feels like) and has convinced the "authorities" that a sex change operation to make him a woman would be beneficial.

In the meantime he is having what i assume is normal sex with women whilst awaiting "transformation."

So what is an expensive operation going to achieve at best?
To make him feel like a woman.........or what he thinks a woman should feel like.

My bet....after a year or so, after the "procedure" he want fancy "feeling like a woman" and will seek reversal.

In answer to your question....yes, he should be moved into a male prison and the operation cancelled.
Even with all the wonderful advances in medical science we hear about is it possible to reverse this procedure? Would they hold the severed parts in cold storage in case of a change of mind?
I think there are some transgender people who seek reversal -- equally, there are are some who don't and a happy in their new body. Can't tell which side this person will be until it happens. But I wouldn't be so dismissive, Sqad, it's a genuine condition. And AOG is making what looks like a disturbing point, rather than a good one. And if not disturbing, then certainly wrong and ill-informed. Transwomen don't have to be sexually attracted only to men, any more than ciswomen have to be.
