It is silly, it is stupid, but no harm will come and we do not know how significant the "branding" is.....3 cms.....5 cms.......100cmms.
Who would be likely to see it? Presumably it was seen by the 2nd surgeon during a laparoscopy and he saw fit to report it.
As I said in my post above, it wouldn't harm the patient and no, I have never heard of such a thing before.................................if it is true.
No big deal: he's a specialist just like a watchmaker. I have a pocket watch 130 years old, and every time the movement was operated upon, the watchmaker left his mark on the inside of the case.

Before gastric ulcers were treated medically surgery was often the treatment of choice, a partial gastrectomy (removal of part of the stomach that contained the ulcer. Tow clamps were placed across the whole stomach and with an electric knife the stomach was divided between the clamps. This produced a burning situation whereby a pungent smoke was produced which to me and others smelled delicious............
Never thought of what they did to me many years ago when I had a partial gastrectomy sqad, hope my surgeon enjoyed my burning stomach - it did the trick, my life was completely different once I had recovered.
