One of his victims seems to think that they were.
/// But victims questioned why he had not been prosecuted for the offence here, given the nationalities of the dead. One survivor accused the British authorities of being afraid of ‘antagonising Muslims’. ///
To divert slightly by something that Nigel Farage has been classed a racist for saying "he would be concerned if a group of Romanians moved in next door".
Would you be concerned if Abu Hamza's family moved in next door to you?

But alot of the evidence was "international" - phone tap etc and so could have been used here.
and yes I noticed the DPP alison saunders seemed more interested not in tackling terrorism but in screwing really old men for groping girls in the sixties.
when I wrote to her about it - she told me a prole I didnt see the whole picture like wot she did.

// The judge Katherine Forrest refused to allow the defence to bring before the jury their claim that Hamza was secretly working with MI5 and Scotland Yard as an intermediary to calm tensions in the Islamic community in Britain. //
Probably part of the deal to extradite him was a clause that his dealings with our sSecret Services would not be allowed in court.

The main reason given for lack of a prosecution here is that some of the crucial evidence depended on phone interceptions which would not have been admissable in a UK court.
Fortunately the US authorities are less interested in intellectual contests between highly paid lawyers and more interested in getting to the truth on behalf of victims of serious crime.
The one worrying aspect of this (apart from the fact that his family - many of them convicted criminals themselves - are still here, living in a £1.2m house and receiving a tidy sum in benefits) is what happens if the US authorities are foolish enough ever to release him. He is a British citizen and has no other citizenship so he'll probably be put on the first Virgin flight back to Gatwick.

Mushroom 25, I doubt that. The security services treat people who are no further use to them shamefully. Freddie Scappaticci, 'Steak knife', was thrown to the wolves. As was Denis Donaldson. Further back in time Sir Anthony Blunt was stripped of his knighthood after being named in Parliament by Thatcher.
// Incidentally, are his family paying the bedroom tax? //
Highly unlikely.
The so called bedroom tax is aimed at eliminating spare room in a house on which benefit is claimed. Lone people living in two or three bedroom properties are penalised for being greedy with rooms.
Mr Hamza has a wife and eight children living in a 5 bedroom dwelling. They don't sound like they have a spare room.

He had some kind of relationship with MI5. The older members of the FPM made several complaints to the police without receiving any help. At one point they did raid his home and the mosque and took away documents etc relating to fraud. I cant remember now if a judge ordered it but I know all the stuff was returned to them to carry on frauding. Our government thought by keeping them close they'd leave us alone. Another faux-pas by Labour.(could have gone on before they came to power, I honestly don't know)
even if there was some truth to it, would he not have blown the whistle a long while ago, as most would.

I had hoped that he would have been water-boarded to within an inch of his life, but then I must admit to a vindictive streak when it comes to Islamic fundies.
He systematically made this country's extradition system look a laughing stock (in tandem with the ECHR) whilst preaching his vile diatribe against the West with impunity.
I'm frankly glad we were rid of this vermin, it's just diabolical that it took so long. What's worse is that he won't even be of any use on a US penitentiary chain gang. Is he even a candidate for Old Sparky?
