But Svejk, if they're serious about opposition their hopes of being invited to form a Government next year have been dealt a major blow as they should have polled far better than they have to realise such ambitions.

That's the general concensus from independent political analysts.
berniecuddles bet you know what to do he thought he took his card in and had to tell a person who he wanted to vote for

he had no idea it was secret and no other person would see who he voted for
lol i'm not that bad m8

/// The results are changing every few minutes. I am going to the fishmongers now to buy my Friday fish ///

Kipper?
Read it again, chilli. Take your time. ;-)
my decision for the day no news on tv and no newspapers!
I have no idea why mikey gave me that link, I have told him it is not up to date.

Svejk
mikey4444 /// And chili...Labour gained 102 council seats up until now. How is a major disappointment ? ///

for once I'm in total agreement, mikey. ;-D

Cons have lost 9 councils but Labour have only gained 3 ...that is a disappointment in my book.
Sorry Svejk, it's been a long night shift and I should have been in bed an hour ago!
roy- mikey and I cant understand how labour gained any seats.
The majority of UKiP members are ex-Tories. I suspect their policies other than immigration will be very close to the Conservatives' policies.
Tory MP on BBC News right now making a total @rse of himself, in total denial.
// I forecast weeks ago that if the Tories joined with UKIP they would win the next election. // AOG

o god I knew we should listen to AOG more....

I have to say the Beeb hack - Nick Robinson has done his little bit for UKIP
"I forecast weeks ago that if the Tories joined with UKIP they would win the next election."

If only that would happen I as a Labour supporter would be overjoyed because it would mean disaster for the Conservatives. What you need to remember is that there are a lot of potential Conservative voters who would be put off by any such coalition. It would also deter Labour voters from voting for them because at the moment UKIP can claim they are "not like other parties" (how true). The Ulster Unionists did an electoral pact with the Tories in N Ireland at the last election and got more or less wiped out. Not entirely the same thing, but a lesson nonetheless
how does anyone know who has defected from the main parties to vote for UKIP, saying a majority are ex Tories is stretching it a bit i would have thought, many may be, but aren't there other parties besides them with disaffected voters

Its not often that we are in agreement Svejk ! I am sometimes accused here on AB of spinning, but when the situation is where it is this morning, its seems people are ignoring or misinterpreting the figures.

( By the way, the fish was basa, and no, I have heard of it either. £2,70 for 2 medium sized smoked fillets )

The scores on the doors at 11.40 are as follows ::

Lab......+126...........33 councils
Con......- 113...........20 councils
LD.......- 110............2..councils
UKIP....+ 90.............0..councils

Only some of the Councils were voted on yesterday, but it would seem that Labour "won" yesterday, at least as far as local voting is concerned.

Still nobody on here defended dave yet this morning ? Although I am not sure what argument anybody could use to do so, but I am would still be interested to see !
The scores on the doors at 12.14 are as follows ::

Lab......+132...........35 councils
Con......- 118...........21 councils
LD.......- 116............2..councils
UKIP....+ 91.............0..councils
mikey, I think you meant to say, 'how is that a disappointment'
not, 'how is a disappointment' which has a totally different meaning. I agreed with what you said as opposed to what you meant to say. Hope that makes my little jest (which I now rue posting) clear.
Perfectly clear Svejk ! All of us are allowed a typo once in a while, especially as we still don't have an edit facility here on AB ( Please ED ! )
Mikey, //Still nobody on here defended dave yet this morning ?//

What do you want him defended against?
