What is this country coming to when everyone has to think if certain actions may cause offence?

Should all newspapers of any particular political association, be burnt because in their past they may have reported unwisely on an event on which they reported many years ago?

AOG - The Sun is in the business of selling advertising to make its money, the purchase price of the paper barely, if at all, covers the printing costs......

It is no more interested in 'England' than any other National newspaper is.
It is a nasty, scurrilous rag and has made it its mission to traduce hundreds/thousands of people and their lives. I was unfortunate enough to receive a free copy.......it went into the bin unread.
I'm just pee'd off I didn't get it. I probably would have read it had I got it. I don't buy papers but I sometimes read the Sunday bumph round at my parents.
i dont think that many will actually read the content aog - many are not really interested in what the sun have to say about england and the world cup i suppose

have you read it? what does it say about england?

Then perhaps that is why some have such a blinked view on matters, they are only prepared to read what they themselves agree with.

I will read anything even the Guardian, so that I can then comment on most matters, even if I don't personally agree with them, but then there have been times when I have found some articles most interesting.
"Who do you think is the greatest living English person?"

Stephen Gerrard.

"Who do you think is the greatest historical English figure?"

William Gladstone (or Derek Hatton?) close that one.

"Or the article entitled "A land of creativity and grit, no one else on the planet comes close to our genius".

Ah yes .... The Beatles!

That free Sun sounds well worth a read AOG, thanks I will dig it out.

///only prepared to read what they themselves agree with.///

I wouldn't know if I agreed with it or not, what part of I binned it is giving you a problem?
///Then perhaps that is why some have such a blinked view on matters, they are only prepared to read what they themselves agree with.///

I read a great many versions of the same news reports, AOG, written from varying perspectives and political bias......I do not need to read anything the trained monkies at The Sun write to further educate myself....
I didn't get a free one delivered so I went to the shop, bought one then binned it without reading it.

Perhaps jackthehat should read anything, even if it was wrote by trained monkeys or not, so as to further educate herself?

As you yourself do Aog, I had to get one of your more insulting posts removed a few days ago!
hope you've got your tin hat on, aog. ;-)

I only retaliate with further insults if I am first insulted or trolled.

You should deem yourself lucky if you got one of my post removed, because if I reported insults made towards me and they where acted upon, the news section of AnswerBank would be almost void of comments.

That bothers me not, I have at least experience in wearing one, more than can be said for those throwing the 'bombshells'.
