If the victim of count 2 had reported it at the time, or if it happened now as a stand alone offence, would it have got to court? Many waitresses and bar staff have had their bottoms groped, and no, it isn't right but would it have resulted in a court case?

Counts 10, 11, 12 - the same question. If the girl had reported she had been fondled 3 times would the offender have been prosecuted in court?

It is a huge surprise, I didn't think he could be like that, like JS he was always the oddball DJ at the Disco until after he died and all the lurid tales came out. So the genial gent is to be treated with suspicion from now on.

Rolf Harris wasn't "genial" though, just creepy. HC, it may depend on their age, too.

He was genial and charming as I remember him pixie, jake the peg and tie me kangaroo were always sung with a smile he was a charming man I thought.

hc I think it was more than that. I read on a BBC report that: "Much of it was too graphic for the mainstream media to report. Inevitably, it will have left the public with a misleading impression of the seriousness of the charges." I think this is probably true.

I wonder how many more in the entertainment business have dark deeds that have not (and perhaps never will) be brought to light?

Far too many, i should think, aog. A few names come to mind- one in particular. Once people think they might be listened to, they are perhaps more likely to come forward.

Is that actually a serious opinion of yours Ivor, that it' not so bad to interfere with little girls as it is with little boys? Is it that you think homosexuality somehow makes child abuse more terrible? I'm totally dumbfounded.

he never struck me as creepy, pixie. But people he groped in Australia are now being interviewed. Apparently he was known as the octopus in showbiz there.
