A victim when your young, absolutly, but waiting until your nearly 30??? and then deciding that your a victim?
Doesnt add up.

The victims, for whatever reason, felt that they were unable to come forward at the time, nailt. That doesn't somehow make Harris innocent!
Lots of victims of lots of things ( not just sexual abuse) try to cope on their own for years before they finally find they can't. In the case of abuse though sometimes years later victims find their voice and their courage. You can see why many don't EVER though with opinions like the ones sometimes voiced on AB about.
Nailit, she didn't "let it happen". If she had, it wouldn't have been a crime after 16.
Celebrity brings power, though. Just as in the Savile case, the victims already feel wretched enough without the thought that no-one would believe them anyway if they were to come forward and make accusations against a "national treasure".
Is it me or, as each day goes by, is it getting harder to tell the difference between the Queen’s Honours list and the sex offenders register?
I can fully understand that the victims felt unable to come forward and understand that they try to cope on their own. I cant accept that they let this carry on until they were nearly 30.
For what its worth I wished that he had got a harsher sentence for what he'd done but I cant accept that someone let him 'abuse' them into their adult years, it doesnt add up to me.
If it had carried on without consent then surely it he would have been charged with multiple count of rape, not just abuse ?
Thirty still isn't that mature!
“Tie me kangaroo down, sport.”

Exactly why does Harris need to tie down the Kangaroo in the first place I have wondered. Then I heard the second verse.

“Squeeze me koala bear's juice loose.”

Dirty b-astard. Deserves what he has got and more.

Just heard on Radio, it is going to be reviewed by the Attorney General as it is thought to be too Lenient

still bad enough! lol
"Watch me wallabies feed, mate" - surely!
Rape and abuse aren't synonymous, nailit. One is an example of the other. Both are non-consensual.
Pixie //Rape and abuse aren't synonymous, nailit. One is an example of the other//
Im not wanting to minimise what happened Pixie, as ive stated I dont think his sentance is severe eneough. Sex abuse...especially of minors...is horrific and demands tough sentancing. But something sits uneasy with me about 'abuse' that went on until someone is nearly 30 years of age and didnt do anything to prevent it.
This poor girl was abused at 13 by RH. This was disgusting by anyones standards. It carried on through her teenage years, again, disgusting.
BUT IT WENT ON until she was nearly 30??
What, no boyfriends that she confided in? She slept with Harris for 16 years against her will?? IT DOESNT ADD UP.
Baldric I posted about the appeal to the AG at 15.20 but it got ignored, as has yours.
I agree with you, nailit, the sentence is too lenient, and I would have kept away from the Harris family once I was adult. Certainly can't imagine being abused for all those years and staying in contact with anyone from that family.
I feel for his poor wife, this could bring a quick end to her life.
