Misleading Headline?
Is the Mail on Sunday trying to stir up hatred against gay people (again)?

Yes it is misleading but what else do you expect from the Daily Wail ? The Wail always has to slip in an anti Gay, anti immigrant, anti benefit claimant or what ever is on their current 'hate list' slant to every story. With this one they have managed to get an anti gay and anti benefit claim slant by mentioning 'tax payer funded' and ' gay' in one sentence.

welcome linda, you will soon realise on here that there are srict definitions on what views are allowed or you get labelled with one or more of the left's standard names, eg little Englander, Knuckledragger, etc and owning up to reading the DM is akin to the bishop of bath and wells eating babies in the vestry! However there is usually some sort of attempt at constructive debate so please stay and contribute, you are most welcome.
All seems totally discriminatory to me, why should Lesbians, childless heterosexual couples and single women have total access to this, what about gay men, they have to either find a woman to bear their children or take up the adoption alternative?
Why are you not complaining about that SP? They should be spending NHS money on research so that males can bear children.
Oh dear have I have given them ideas? :0)

Yes indeed - welcome to the site.
In addition to ToraToraTora's helpful introduction, I should also warn you that should you express any left wing (or even centre left) opinions, you will instantly be confirmed as a member of the 'PC Brigade' (we have several units deployed around AB, mostly reservists).
You should steer clear of challenging anyone who expresses negative opinions about Islam/Muslim otherwise you will occasionally be referred to as a terrorist sympathiser, or in some rare cases - a traitor.
Please steer clear of any oblique references to race, otherwise we will be regaled with a certain poster's stories of 'how the hospital I go to in Birmingham is full of Asians'.
Also, if you challenge any of the right-of-centre members on anything they say, you should accept that your point is invalid and all you're trying to do is take away their freedom of speech / shout them down / bully them (delete as applicable).

//Artificial insemination on the NHS
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends that up to six cycles of IUI treatment on the NHS may be offered if:
•you are unable (or would find it very difficult) to have vaginal intercourse, for example because of a physical disability
•you have a condition (such as a viral infection that can be sexually transmitted) that means you need specific help to conceive
•you are in a same-sex relationship //

When you say 'the expense of others', I thought you were referring to emotional cost.
But I think what you mean is cost to the tax payer right?
So are you saying that gay people should pay through their taxes for straight couples to have fertility treatment, which is not available through the NHS to them?
If so...why?
I pay for tons of procedures that I will never use, but I'm talking about practical things such as gynaecological exams etc. Should the NHS be there to make 'moral' judgements based on sexuality (as opposed to sex/gender)?
