So its turned out just as most people predicted it would. It has to be admitted that Salmond had a mountain to climb, but if he had equipped the campaign with more than a lot of fart and thunder, he might have been successful. But on all the occasions when he was asked to explain some really important things, like the economy and currency, he just waffled away,...

That was to answer Mikey!
Yes, well done to Gordon, although I am not sure that his speech alone was the decider. The YES camp just didn't make a good enough case for such drastic action as the Referendum suggested. They failed rather than the NO camp won.
He didn't aim it directly at murrymints, it was aimed at Scottish NO voters.
I think he is a Geordie?
Did you have a bet on the outcome Wharton?

Mrs JtH is 'content' with the vote.
Like *all* other Scots, I suspect, she would have loved the "Yes" vote to have succeeded......but the shambolic campaign run by Salmond/Sturgeon simply wasn't the right way to go about it.

Had S&S not shilly-shallied, dissembled, mixed bombastic rhetoric with vague reassurances and gone to the voters with a definite plan for Scotland to move forwards and not concentrated on SNP policies post-independence, they might even have won.
Refreshingly honest and plain-speaking from Glasgow this morning. I especially like the last chap...sheer common sense and lots of it ! Make that man an MP please !

ChillDoubt - I read your earlier post referring to me. I'm in the huff and not speaking to anyone (for a wee while anyway) :-)

Salmond wanted to split the UK and succeeded in slitting Scotland.
Thanks, Ummmm. I didn't recognise him, but I don't look for returning ABers. I'd forgotten all about him.
How true Brionon, but we can't blame him for trying I suppose. But I bet he wished he had tried harder and more intelligently this morning !
Chilli...they missed out one question though...." Did you spill my pint ?"
chilld "aih'm thinkin'.
No mikey, in Scotland it's "Are you LOOKING at my pint!"
You may be right Chili. I did try to convert "did you spill my pint" into broad Scots, but failed.

As this is all over now, can we talk about something else please ? ( directed at me as much as anybody else ! )
have you also been to glasgae child?
If the cap fits wear it mickey....no name was mentioned.
Naomi ,your reply 9.46 today, probably the same WE that you mentioned .
