Pitt the Younger wouldn't have stood a chance in hell in AOG's world. PM at 24 and a brilliant exponent in setting up the future Empire's administration, never mind his role in what proved to evolve into Metternichian politics of that era as to Europe.
Yes I'm with AOG on a lower age limit. Many of the younger MPs appear to have less sense than they were born with. However, whether that will improve as they age is arguable.
Recent legislation prevents employers from discriminating on age grounds and in particular dismissing a person simply on the basis that they have reached (say) 65 is now much more difficult. So they can hardly start to impose age restrictions in the House of Commons.

"a brilliant exponent in setting up the future Empire's administration",
Blimey such admiration is unbelievable, in 2014's Britain he would now be castigated for such a 'racist' action.
all part of the evolution of society, AOG; after all slavery was only abolished by Britain after he had expired (1806), just one example of what was accepted then.
