I don't think they should be kiddlywinkies like Pitt The Embryo but they also shouldn't be such superannuated old pharts like Cable or Ken Clarke.

In America, the law says the President must be aged at least thirty-five so that appears to suggest a high level of life-skills can be learnt before forty.

Old MPs never die, they just move on to the Lords and sleep there in between expenses fiddling. It's a hard life !

Of course it can be learnt before 40. What would a 60 year old who has spent his/her life in the same village know that a 30 year old that has travelled the world wouldn't?

You can't put an age on life experiences.
