Why is it that if you don't condone the actions of these women you are presumed to be anti Breastfeeding? I am a great supporter of breastfeeding, have fed all four of my children but don't agree with the original woman who kicked up a fuss in Claridges, nor do I agree with the silly demonstration this woman's supporters thought necessary. Its for publicity but...
I wonder if the people who complain about women breastfeeding in public would still complain if the ladies had their boobs out without a baby attached?
I fully advocate breastfeeding in public, but covering over whilst doing so is basic good manners. She wasn't asked to leave, so what is the problem? I'm sure if someone was eating with their hands, for example, and they were politely asked to use a fork and knife it wouldn't have hit the headlines.
I don't think this would have been such a massive story had it not occurred in Claridges. I may be wrong but I doubt they particularly wish they'd reacted differently either.
/// It's a mini protest. You don't complain when the EDL do it! ///
Nothing against the protest, it is the method used that must come up for criticism, unfair on the babies to be forced fed just because their mothers wish to get their message over.
What is wrong with the usual placards and banners, one never sees the EDL flashing their boobs in public?
