I don't know how you go about unliking music that you used to like. Being too old to be a fan of either Glitter or Jackson, it's not something I've had to deal with. But I still like Chris Farlowe's stuff even after finding out he dealt in Nazi memorabilia. And I suppose if I were a Wagnerite I wouldn't be bothered by his beliefs either. You can be a fan of the music without being a fan of the man, I suspect.
Of course they are richer now.

I have never had any problem separating the art from the artist - as advised, I can't 'unlike' music, and I never think about the artist's life when reading, viewing, or hearing their art, it simply doesn't occur to me.

I would agree with Lemmy from Motorhead on this - he also is an avid memorabilia collector - collecting artefacts denotes an interest in the history of them - it does not equate with sympathy for the ideology involved.

from the look of him, with his short height, and absence of teeth, and weighing about eight stone wringing wet, he does seem somewhat confrontational!
Looking at him, he'd be better 'offering out' a Diddy Man, or a timid five year old, rather than threatening total strangers who take issue with his brainless abuse of a celebrity.
Next time he asks if someone 'wants it', he might find himself in the Accident Unit having is pint glass removed under local anaesthetic!!

It's an interesting phenomenon - I do occasional party discos for friends, and I am doing one this weekend.
I shall be playing a selection of selection of MJ records, and expect people do dance and enjoy them, based on past experience.
I will not be playing any GG records - never tried since his conviction, but would not risk it - which is a shame, because his records are great - but I do feel that he carries a far greater stigma than MJ, which could extend to an ugly scene, and I would never want to upset anyone, however much I may enjoy his music.

I seen Michael Jackson on his 'bad' tour and he's was a fantastic performer but I can't get out of my head that's he was a child abuser. It takes the enjoyment away imo.

The BBC ( the guardian of our morals ) regularily plays MJ music .
So dont feel guilty listening to his music .
Personally i think that MJ was naive , rather than anything else .

Take for example Frank Sinatra - a lot of people like his music ( although i myself cant see why ) - anyway , suppose it now came to light that he was kiddy fiddler , would those people suddenly have a dislike of his songs ?
