I actually want to work and get off benefits but because I am long term unemployed I need a bit of help and there is none available the tories look after the rich and dont care about anyone else.

I am surprised even flabbergasted to see that Eric Pickles is still alive yet in parliament he is grossly obese the layers of fat around his neck is a heart attack waiting to happen according to doctors fat around the neck is a bad sign. Will they be cutting his food expenses? I dont think so.

If I got a job I could start tomorrow and I would be delighted but after looking for 5 years filling in thousands of application forms and not even getting a reply it is disheartening especially when one of my friends got a friend of hers come up to her and told her there is a vacancy in her office and she had put her name forward and she got the job same thing happened to her husband not who you are but who you know. I am very bitter oh dear I need a bar of galaxy!!

How did you get to be 7 stones overweight then Gordie, was that the cause of your Diabetes?
I'm 63, type 2 for last 6 years (approx.) I don't take any Meds, because I exercise and watch my diet, You gotta help yourself mate.
I've retired now, ran my own business for last few years, employed someone for a while, I would sooner employ the Blue Hair and Tats than have to look at an obese person all day, (he who pays the piper etc!)

That is highly offensive having to look at an obese person. It could be to do with the fact that I was abused as a child and I eat because I am angry and bitter and life is bloody unfair to me nobody gives me a leg up. My mother says I cant get a job because I am overweight and I think that is disgusting I have seen some women who are very good looking but hopeless at their jobs and I can only imagine what an interviewer was thinking !!

Gordie Serious question if there are no jobs in the UK how come east Europeans come over in droves for jobs? is it the fact you either are not prepared to take any job, or is it you would lose money if you started a job. People, who for whatever reason, will not accept help to try and get back into work should have there benefits stopped. Half of people on benefits would not last very long in North America where you see people with no legs working in Walmart or partially sighted people sweeping up in McDonalds.

Our lax, easy to get, benefits are a lazy persons charter to not bother to work.

We now have a couple of generations of people who don't know what it is to work because the government pay them to stay at home.

Dont get me started on those *** Eastern Europeans i applied for a job as a waiter in a hotel on the mimimum wage I am more than happy to work for 6 weeks ago not a reply I went to the same hotel last week for a meal and not one waiter or waitress was British. They cant come up with that crap that British people dont want to work when they apply for jobs and are all filled by foreigners.

After being on here I have a headache and palpitations. This is getting me wound up. I am 43 and on the scrapheap but really want to work apply for hundreds of jobs get nowhere and I am vilified for being overweight or lazy I give up with this thread it has left me feeling very very bitter.
