There are some downright nasty p...ss taking comments on here towards geordie. Geordie have you tried Kleeneze or Betterware, you can deliver the catalogues and take orders from them. Not sure if available in your area, but if not all the better because there will be no competition.

Ummm :o)
I don't see why the rest of us who have paid taxes all our life should susidise greedy people. At least Eric Pickles earns a salary and always has done. I understand there are people with conditions like under active thyroid or medication side effects but the percentage is minute. People have to start taking responsibility for themselves.

Oops, what happened there?
Like Jordain said. Over eating, or comfort eating, is often associated with low self esteem.
People who say they are too fat to work usually have plenty of excuses - that's part and parcel of being fat -there is always a reason other than "I eat too much and don't exercise" Apart from the 1% who are perhaps on steroids or other meds that may cause weight gain, the rest are just fat -so what if they have low self-esteem? That doesn't mean they should be allowed to take money out of the Benefit Pot which is there to help people with real medical conditions that prevent them from working.. They should be made to accept help - psychological help if necessary , and if they refuse then their benefits should be stopped.
I haven’t read all the posts, and I think the word ‘offence’ is a much abused, but I find people who, through their own lifestyle choices, render themselves incapable of contributing to the society upon which they depend, highly offensive.
Sorry, *the word ‘offence’ is much abused*
lifestyle choices?
I dont think many people 'choose' to become alcoholics or drug addicts (or 'fatties').
Life is more complicated than that.
Ive got a drink problem, I didnt 'choose' to have that any more than I choose to have blue eyes or be 6ft tall.
Weather the government is responsible for my well being is another matter.
or choose to be on benefits.............. it's such a luxurious lifestyle!!
//or choose to be on benefits.............. it's such a luxurious lifestyle!!//
You are kidding yeah??
nailit, //Ive got a drink problem, I didnt 'choose' to have that any more than I choose to have blue eyes or be 6ft tall. //

I don't buy that. Blue eyes you're stuck with, your height you're stuck with, but a drink problem, given the wherewithal, is curable.

//Weather the government is responsible for my well being is another matter. //

It isn't. People have to take responsibility for themselves.
Yeah...she's kidding.

The media portray a life on benefits as a life of luxury....far from the truth!

Well, you can afford to eat in Hotels allegedly!
He didn't say who paid for it!
Ummmm, Good! Life on benefits for those who choose their lifestyle shouldn't be a life of luxury. I'd far rather the money go to people who really can't take care of themselves.
I'm not condoning a life on benefits, Naomi, but how soul destroying must it be to apply for 100's of jobs and not hear anything back?
It is never fair to assume if someone has a night out, a meal out or even a holiday that their benefits paid forit- indeed after household expenses you'd be lucky.

This obviously struck hard at Gordie's heart when he read it - but he has said despite his both physical and other health difficulties he has applied for many many jobs and got nowhere.

Frustration pushes you lower and lower down and it becomes a vicious circle.

I would hope his GP could perhaps offer some more advice re weight issues
too.

Those who are living it up on Benefits almost always are involved in some sort of other money making scheme or lifestyle.
I am about 19 stone (been up to 22 stone in the past). For a five foot female that is much too heavy. I have been overweight since my teens.

I don't work due to health issues. People are always quick to make assumptions about fat people - there is much negativity in the media about us.

Obesity is a complicated subject, everybody is different. All my true friends accept me for who I am.

I have never heard of anyone being unable to work solely because they are fat.

I would say more but I am typing on my tablet and I am too fat and lazy to go downstairs to use the PC or laptop.
