/// Several have claimed that their foreign rivals have an unfair advantage and that their owners have different rules on grooming and behave differently at events. ///

I hate the dog show circuit! Whilst we show our hounds occasionally, I however would never put a foot in the show ring myself. Its corrupt and more emphasis is placed on the dog owner than the dog.
Talbot,
German Shepherds.French Poodles, Daschunds et al have, under the Convention of Canine Rights free access of movement and can be working dogs as well if they bark from the EU and bring their own chips.
It is the Afghan Hounds,in particular, and the Rhodesian Ridgebacks we have to guard against crossing under the Border (collie)!!!
I think the general 'amateur' atmosphere of Crufts has been taken over by the influx of foreign dogs, and it disturbs the cosy 'Britishness' that a lot of UK breeders appreciate.
That said, if the rules allow foreign dogs, then they are entitled to compete, and there is little that UK breeders can do about it.
I don't think you are 'Dogist' AOG, I think that's an entirely different form of recreation. (Ooo-er!!!)
