I think "they" have known who he is for a long time now. Its where he is that is the difficult bit. But what if he was apprehended ? ISIS would just replace him with another mad terrorist, and we would be no further forward.
it seems they've known for some time but have kept quite for "operational reasons", whatever that may mean. I don't imagine knowing his name means they're any closer to (or any further away from) finding him, though.
BBC just said that he is seen, in the videos, *personally* carrying out at least one execution himself (a Syrian soldier). Does that fit with your hypothesis?
SkyNews has been reporting on this for the last hour with a news conference by CAGE, with one member telling us what a lovely young man he was when he knew him. He seems to suggest it was harassment by the security services that turned him into JJ if it is in fact him. His family, they think, disappeared from their West London home about two weeks ago.
// Being a hostage of this savage, I find it hard to believe that they would be light hearted enough to give him and his Isis cell such endearing names.//
i think they were called them the Beatles because
they were er beating them
I think name calling of your gaolers is commonplace as it feels as tho you have power over them - ( see first commandment )
Gallows humour is also common
the main torture centre in islamic Iran - Qasr Evin I think was renamed the Palace of Laughter. ( Qasr = palace ) I suppose - a parsi speaker can tell us if the word for 'laughter' is near to 'evin'
I am certain they were aware that not many people laughed there
