Anybody who is still unsure whether to vote for UKIP or not in a few weeks time had better see this.

He wants to repeal anti-race discrimination laws ! This will never happen, of course, because Farage and UKIP will never win a General Election ! But the fact that he has said this, is still atrocious .

My Dad had to put with signs saying " No Blacks, no Irish and no dogs" when he was a young man in post war Britain. If Farage had his way, these signs would appear outside the factory gate, all over again.

A quote from the BBC link :::: When asked if he would retain a ban on discrimination on the grounds of race or colour, he said: "No... because we take the view, we are colour-blind. We as a party are colour-blind."

If anybody else wants a reason that Farage and his Party are constantly exposed to ridicule, they need look no further.

Firstly we are not in Canada or Australia, we are in the European Union that has a policy of free movement. Secondly there are areas that would not give an Eastern European or a Muslim or someone who is black a job because they don't feel that the individual is 'right for the job' ie not white anglo. That is wrong and we need to maintain these laws or what will be the...

Sandyroe, a letter in the Mail today criticised Craig Brown for poking fun at Farages' velvet collared coat saying that it is an iconic part of an English gentlemens wardrobe, and therefore an attack on the upper middle class and Savile row to boot.

"I have been following the factual programs on the Yesterday Channel regarding the rise of Adolf Hitler. "

Did you manage to come up with anything Methyl??
Askyourgran, in the same way that chavs have besmirched Burberry goods, Farage has tainted the velvet collared coat.

You appear to have misunderstood what your dad was saying, mikey. Those signs appeared outside 'lodging' houses, not factories.
And in those days, strangely, people could have, or rather not have, whoever they chose to in their houses.
I could imagine if 'Chez Mikey' was ever reduced to taking in lodgers the sign would read, "No Doleys, no Smokers and no Kippers".
...and no Taffies. We didn't invade this country just to accommodate the natives.

Svejk, I remember seeing a repeat of a Panorama TV programme, from the 50s or early 60s, where workers were shown explaining why they didn't want Darkies working with them
...in which case they should change their paper. Try The Daily Mail.
Be that as it may, sandy, you know where those signs were displayed, don't you?
Yes. They were in the windows of lodgeing houses
Remember all the London dockers coming out on strike in 1968 in support of Enoch Powell after Heath had sacked him from the shadow cabinet because of his 'Rivers of Blood' speech?
But it's a good thing that if you're in the business of renting rooms, or providing other services, you can't discriminate now. Things have improved.
Not everywhere, sandy. Bristol Black Carers are a council supported 'charity' that supplies black carers,,,,because black people don't like having white people in their houses.

What about Irish builders labourers and road maintenance workers? Are they so long established they have fallen under the radar?
...and what about the Irish tinkers? How would we get our pots and pans repaired and our stock of clothes pegs replenished without them?

Garage charismatic? Spiv written all over him.
Farage, not Garage there
